Ideas for "Babymoon"
Does anyone have any suggestions for a "babymoon" destination? We will be going somewhere when I am 25-26 weeks but aren't sure where to go. We want a beautiful beach, but also some place that has some activities I can do in the afternoon/evening. So many resorts have no evening activity except for bars. We'd like some place that has casinos, or a town where we can go hear music, etc. My concern is that God-forbid anything should happen, I would want to know the hospitals in the area are safe and good. Any suggestions? My mom suggessted Puerto Rico...

Re: Ideas for "Babymoon"
I haven't been, but both Aruba and the Dominican Republic have casinos. I've heard that Secrets in Punta Cana, DR is really nice.
We went to Paradisus Riviera Maya, Mexico for our Babymoon. It was great! But, there are no casinos. We spent the days at the beach/pool and then would go to the gym, shower and change and have a late dinner - like 8/8:30. By the time we were done I was usually tired and we'd go for a walk or stop by the open air lobby where they had live music each night.

We did Vegas the 1st time (we are not gamblers) just to do sort of our last grown up thing together. Or go to the Carribbean you can't go wrong.

Re: Ideas for "Babymoon"
Your options are pretty wide open. I'm thinking of doing a Caribbean cruise and indulge before my 24th week. Heck, if I'm gonna have major food cravings there's no better place than on a ship loaded with tons of food.
Make sure to stay at a place that has clinics or hospitals that will take your insurance though. You never know when you need to stop by one of those places...

Re: Ideas for "Babymoon"
well, i don't think this is really what you're looking for but we took our "babymoon" in mystic, ct. It was a really nice relaxing weekend. We stayed at the steamboat inn which is right in the heart of town on the river. There are plenty of nice restaurants and shops. You can go the the aquarium and the seaport. Foxwoods and Mohegan sun are close too!

We did a cruise out of NY because DH was nervous for me to fly. It was great. There was as much or as little to do as we wanted.

Re: Ideas for "Babymoon"
When I was pregnant with DS, we went to Aruba. For this one, we are going to Cancun. My doc did not want me to go anywhere too "exotic" in fear I might need medical attention. Aruba has a modern health system so my doc was OK with it. Be aware with cruises, most will not allow you to go if you are past 25 weeks.
