ideas for welcoming home mom and baby

we're going tomorrow to decorate for when mom and baby come home.

i know many people will say anything would be nice, but besides a clean home and some cooked meals..what would make you smile coming back to your home with the new little one?

I was in party city and they had a welcome home decoration set - for the door - i think it was prob for military service but it wasn't red/white/blue.

I was going to tell my BIL to get for my sis - she's due in dec.

My neighbor brought over steaming hot home made cinnamon buns they day after I came home from the hospital. They were fantastic. I got bagels, assorted cream cheeses and an edible arrangement from co-workers delivered to my house and that was fantastic too.

I am paying my cleaning lady to come to my house the day before I come home to clean my house.

Make sure that all the baby stuff is set up, bedding washed, newborn and some 0-3 outfits washed.

GC for a massage.

Help with older children.

A welcome home sign.

I remember coming home and feeling so overwhelmed so for me, coming home to no one at my house was great.

I really think you decorating and cooking is worth it's weight in gold.

Reality hits you as soon as you get home - in the hospital you don't realize all the responsibility and I know when I got home I was almost afraid.

I have a recipe for crumb cake that is amazing and is the perfect thing to bake because you get unexpected visitors all the time and thats something you can just cut up and offer to someone rather quickly.

It's very nice of you to do this for your friend or family member. They will remember for a long time.

food, food, food.....

everything set up (bassient, crib, diapers, creams, etc)

a clean house!

We worked it out so my cleaning lady came the morning I was due to come home.
