If AF comes at 11:30 pm.. is that CD1?
Or is the next day CD1? It was a weekend so I was up that "late". If it was a weeknight, I probably wouldn't know AF came until the next day.
I know this is an obnoxiously anal question... I just want to monitor things as precisely as possible

That is a good question. I would personally not count CD 1 unitl the next day. But technically I am not sure.

No...............count CD1 as the next day. Unless you wake up bleeding you wouldn't count it as CD1. (especially so late at night)

Wait, do you always count CD1 as the next day unless you wake up bleeding?
Last AF started at 7:30pm, and it was full flow (not spotting). I counted that as CD1...should I be counting the next day as CD1?

Good follow-up question.. Kristen's post confused me, but I didn't want to because I know my question was ridiculous to begin with!

I would count both 7:30pm and 11:30pm as CD1 as long as it's flow and not spotting. 11:30pm can be iffy, but def 7:30pm.
As a general rule, if it happens before I go to sleep, I count it for that day.

Flow or not I always count CD1 at the next day unless AF starts early in the morning. 7:30 and 11:30 at night I would not count as CD1. That being said, if you do count it as CD1 it's not that big of a deal.............you just might be off a day when your calculating "O". In the end it doesn't matter that much.

Re: If AF comes at 11:30 pm.. is that CD1?
For me, if it came at 7:30 I could count that as CD 1 and if it were 11:30 I would probably count the next day as CD 1 since technically its the next day at 12am lol

Re: If AF comes at 11:30 pm.. is that CD1?
So I follow the directions for the CBEFM. It says if you start AF during the day you would set your monitor for CD1 starting the following morning. That's what I've been doing. Below is the directions for setting the CBEFM.
If your period starts in the night, or in the morning before your chosen m Button setting time, you can press the m Button when you wish that morning. If your period starts during the day, after your chosen m Button setting time, you should WAIT until the following morning before pressing the m Button. You should set this as day 1 of your cycle. •

the nurse at the RE told me if it is after 9pm then count CD1 as the next day. She said it's not an exact science so its not too big of a deal either way.

I count the day I begin bleeding (not spotting) as day one and every 24 hours is another day.

Per my RE, after 9pm counts towards the next day being CD1.

Re: If AF comes at 11:30 pm.. is that CD1?
My clinic told me the first day of FULL FLOW before midnight is CD1.
I got AF at 10pm and they counted that as day 1. I had light spotting all afternoon but at 10pm it was the full flow.
