If I am having a pool party...
for Andrews Birthday. I am hoping that it is warm enough at least. And we have a big backyard and plan on having a pinata and bats, balls, etc. Do you think we need anymore entertainment?
Money is tight and I rather not if I can get away without it.
Or do have any ideas on what we can do ourselves?

if money is tight, skip the entertainment, there is no requirement that you HAVE to have that. He will have fun regardless

I think you have plenty but you may want to hire someone strictly for watching the ppol so you can relax a little...You can get a lfe guard off craigslist or just hire a college student to watch...i know i always hate pool partys because everyone thinks someone else is watching the kids...

I would just try and find games that could occupy their time if you needed, but honestly I don't think you need that

I think as long as you have plenty of outdoor toys you should be fine. Why don't you order a bunch of blow up beach balls so you don't have to worry about kids fighting over them.

I rented an ice cream cart for DD's bday and the kids (and adults) loved it.
The sundae bar sounds delish!

i wouldnt get entertainment- sounds like itll be just fine- my only conern is- u have a heated pool? i know that pool water really doesnt get warm until like late june...?? the only other thing i might add is some kid of bubble thing game- kids love bubbles, im sure u know...

Ive hired a lifeguard. worth it for the peace of mind./

Save money on a cake and bake your own cupcakes .. it will be neater for the kids anyway.. also maybe see if someone has a sand water table you can borrow and use that as well ...Also set up a table with crayons, markers, playdough nd print free coloring book pages online and let them color

I would definately go for a lifeguard. I am a psycho about it as I was a lifeguard for over 15 years. Pools scare me.

I would definately go for a lifeguard. I am a psycho about it as I was a lifeguard for over 15 years. Pools scare me.
i did this for dd 1st bday party. i had about 15 kids and i felt that having a lifeguard there to just watch the pool at all times was totally worth it. i think the parents were a bit more at ease too. JMO
other than that i think you're good. the kids will have tons of fun in the pool.
