If I don't have the BRU receipt for a registry gift...

Will they completely NOT take it back? Or can I get a store credit at least?

I remember taking things back w/o a receipt with Maddie- but that was some time ago- it doesn't hurt to try though, right?

i took back things without a receipt and as long as it was on my registry...they didnt give me a hard time at all

I tried to do that yesterday and they wouldn't let me return it or get a bigger size! They also wouldn't let me change something even though I had the receipt but I bought it 91 days ago... and it has to be 90 days. I'm SOOOO done with that store once I use up all my gift cards

Nope. Their policy has changed since I was pregnant last year. No returns or exchanges without a receipt. This is one of reasons why I refused to register with them.

I had a toy to return - they said that they did sell it but they couldn't take it back. *** - you still sell it. They are very difficult now.

i think as long as it was on your registry they will take it back!! at least that's what i overheard the last time i was there a couple of months ago!!

If it shows up as bought on your registry, they will give you a store credit.

They accept returns from your registry.

However, they don't always offer you the best price. My friend bought me one of those NFL mobiles from my registry and when I tried to exchange it for another mobile, BRU offered me only $6 for it. I know there is no way my friend paid $6 for it. I just ended up keeping the mobile.

They have gotten much more strict in the past few months even with registry's but it never hurts to try. I believe one of the policies they just changes was unfortunately the registry one where you must have a receipt now even with registry gifts I was furious! I would still try though you may get someone nice at the desk and get lucky. Good luck!

Like others said, as long as it was purchased from your registry and scanned as bought, they'll take it back. Just do it sooner rather than later.

Just my two cents, but the Baby Trend is actually better then the Graco because it is taller. The handle on the Graco is really low. Graco changed the design last year. All of my friends have these really short strollers. It is really wierd!

Jen, I haven't had any trouble returning anything without a receipt at BRU. Most of what I returned was on my registry...but I did return some clothes I was given that was not on my registry and they accepted it and gave me store credit. Maybe they're a little more lenient here in NJ?

If you got some things from BRU without a receipt that aren't on your registry- here's a trick- just add something to your registry, mark it as purchased...and then return it. Works like a charm! Of course this only works before registry is completed.

I was able to return things without receipts as long as it showed on my registry with no problem. They even took back something that was not on my registry and I did not have a receipt for. I had no problems with BRUs return policy.

I'm not sure which infant car seat you have, but I know that my Graco SnugRide32 did not fit into the Baby Trend Snap n' Go and I had to buy the Graco Snugrider (snap n' go). Just an FYI, I know you want to exchange the Baby Trend already. I love the Graco one though!

I'm not sure about what they will do if you don't have a BRU receipt and it's on your registry.

What I do know and this happened to me last night Is that if you don't have a receipt they will not give you anything. The garment I had had the "R'Us" label on it so it was no question that it came from the store she was questioning if I took it off the rack and just walked over to the return counter.

I'm not saying that doesn't happen but my goodnes *** almost every store takes back things without a receipt and gets store credit. Luckily turns out I had charged the garment on my credit card and she was able to look it up by swiping my card. I got the $10 back on my card. I was happy she remembered to ask me how I paid or else I was stuck with something I didn't want.

The policy of theirs that I really HATE is the 90 days limit to return. Seriously all the mothers to be need to be made aware that the shower gifts they get they will need to open all their boxes and check if everything works and is not missing. There are some things we didn't need right away for DS so we never checked the items until later. We discovered one of our items didn't work and it was passed the 90 day mark and they wouldn't take it back even with the gift receipt.

I like buying certain things at BRU but I don't like they way they treat their customers and they DO NOT put customer satisfaction first. THey will totally kiss your *** when your "a first timer" registering with them but after that point they treat you like crap.

I had my DD in December and through just a few months ago (last time I tried), as long as it was on the registry, you did NOT need the receipt for an exchange. For a few things, I added it to my registry after I got them, and was able to return without a receipt.

And in Feb, I tried to exchange something on my registry and I had a gift receipt. The gift was bought in Sept, and at first the woman told me I couldn't return because it was more than 90 days. But I told her I had just received the gift the day before (which was actually true), and she went to speak with someone, and they took it back for credit.
