If I have a daughter she will be nameless
There is not one girls name I like.
Nada.
No cutesy names, no made up names, no trendy names, no old lady names, no simple names...
I pray this kid is a boy.

Re: If I have a daughter she will be nameless
I was the SAME way. I had a boy name all picked out, 1,2,3.
I swore I was having a boy so I didn't even think about a girl name
When they told me it was a girl, I was shocked and then I had NO idea about names.
I hated them all.
DH had a few that I was eh on.
I walked into the delivery room with no name set for her. Just 2 that I was still considering.
After she was born, I just looked at her and when they asked if she had a name DH blurted out the one we were leaning towards. And I agreed. It fit.
It will happen for you.... it may be last minute, but it will come.

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
You have plenty of time. Hayley and Lila didn't have names til about 2 weeks before they were born and Hayley was Hailey until after she was born.
Also both of those names weren't even close to being on the radar until towards the end. Never even considered them.

We were the opposite- no boy names. Luckily, I had a girl.
We hardly even discussed names. There were 2 we liked but one had meaningful initials. Like Nell, when the nurses asked after she was born, I blurted the name out and that was that!

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
Thanks everyone! I am not too worried, I am sure at some point we will figure something out, but right now everything is a big fat NOPE.
And DH keeps suggesting "normal" names like Lisa and I'm like....uhhh it's not 1980 LOL

Re: If I have a daughter she will be nameless
This was us with boy names. After my second DS was born, he had no name until nine days old. Apparently they will let you out of the hospital without a name. It is very stressful!

Re: If I have a daughter she will be nameless
This was us when we were having a girl. Had so many boys names and not one girl name that we loved. Finally went through a list and came up with three we liked and went with one of them.

LOL. This happened with my SIL. She had no name and when she was leaving the hospital they told her to just pick a name to put down but they wouldn't submit the Birth Certificate to the state for a few days in case she changed her mind. 3 days later she went back to the hospital and changed his name on the Birth Certificate at the last minute. Apparently once they submit it to the state you'd have to go through the process of legally changing it in court, etc. She got it in just under the wire But he had a different name for the first week of his life.

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
I'm the opposite-I find boys names to be so difficult!
Ashley's name was super easy to come up with, and we also had a boy option last time. Now we're using the boy name, and came up with a new girl name.
When we go for the third I literally have zero ideas for a boy, and we still have the girl name from this time

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
It took us awhile to figure out a girls name but it literally just popped into my head driving one day. We are naming her after someone which makes it extra special and the name means so much more to us. Then hearing DS say it, melts my heart!

Technically our boy name could be used for a girl, I just always pictured it would be a boy who I gave that name to LOL I have two girl names I kinda like but DH isn't sold - especially since one reminds him of a cartoon character LOL

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
DH and I were convinced we were having a girl and had a few names we both loved...when we found out we were having a boy we were clueless for months. We tossed names around but nothing that I loved. DS wasn't officially named until 2 days after he was born !

I had that problem with my last DD. Loved so many boy names but didn't love anything for a girl. Finally I decided there was one boy name that I liked for a boy OR a girl. I picked the feminine version of the male name but still call her the boy name as her nickname. IE. Joey/Josephine

Re: If I have a daughter she will be nameless
I am the same way. DH named DD1 for a lot of reasons but one of the main reasons was because there isn't a single girl name I really like. I found out DC2 was a girl at 14 weeks. Knowing I have never really liked girl names I felt like I needed to really find a name. There were names I thought were pretty, but none that felt right. We tried a few out (referencing the baby by names we didn't hate) and after a few, there was one name that it started to really grow on me. It was no longer a name it was now attached to a person which made me love it. DH loved it too, so it all worked out.... Although DH would have loved pretty much anything I settled on after the amount of names we threw around. I think he just wanted to stop talking about it.

I think once you meet her, a name will pop in your head based on your feelings and attachment with that initial bond :)

This was us. So naturally we had two boys.
DS1 was named a few hours after he was born. DS2 was over a day old before we finally decided! He would probably still be nameless today but the nurses were making me fill out the birth certificate form so I was pressured into picking.

If I have a daughter she will be nameless
DH and I had DD's name picked out before she was even born. We always said if we have a girl her name would be *this.* We couldn't find a boys name we liked and were so happy when we found out she was a girl so we could use the name we had chosen forever ago.
Meanwhile, we ended up changing our minds on the car ride to the hospital and she ended up with a completely different name than we had imagined! So even if you have a name chosen, you never know what could happen until that baby is born.
