If money were no object AND kids were coming along...
Where would you go/what would you do for vacation? Taking 2 year old and a 4 year old for DH birthday and our 10th so we want it to be really nice and as relaxing as possible.

Disney cruise. About to take our 2nd 7-night cruise and we can't wait. I couldn't believe how much I relaxed on our 1st cruise, with our then 2 and 6 year olds. It was amazing. If relaxation is your thing then I highly recommend it.

Actually, if money were not object I would also consider the Seychelles, Maldives, Tahiti and Fiji. I've never been but they look amazing.

I don't know where I'd go, but if money were no object I'd bring along a babysitter because I can't fathom anything being relaxing with a 4 year old and a 2 year old! I just have a 2 year old and haven't relaxed for more than 2 minutes in 2 years.

I think.a flight that long would be a nightmare with kids that age. I agree about the babysitter. Lol

Disney cruise
We went on cruises with our extended family and they were great babysitters. We were able to see the shows at night and not worry about our kids. Also there were so many hands to hold our kids that it actually felt like a vacation for us too.
As for places to go, Hawaii, Europe, Australia.
My feeling is that Fiji and those kinds of places are really just for romance and not for bringing children.

I would do the south of France. Nice beaches and very kid friendly. Corsica is also very nice. Or a Greek island. What about a Meditererranean cruise? The flights don’t take as long as Fiji, etc.
If don’t mind long flights with kids, you can also do Australia.
If you don’t want to take a long flight, then maybe Maine?

A LONG flight with kids that age isn't relaxing, so I wouldn't go somewhere far.
I have friends that LOVE Beaches Turks & Caicos, their pictures look GREAT!
We LOVE the Disney Cruise! Their private island is gorgeous. But, your 2 year old wouldn't be allowed in the kids club (you can only do paid nursery) or the pools (just the splash park), and you wouldn't really be able to relax.

I would do Beaches Turks and Caicos. Disney Cruises are great but the kids club doesn’t start until 3.

I disagree - last time we went my DS was only 2 so he couldn't go to the kids' club and my other DS didn't want to go anyway and I still relaxed (which shocked me). I didn't have to worry about meals or make decisions about where to eat, or about what to do where - we just looked at the schedule and picked an activity. If someone was tired or needed a nap the room was there, we could be inside or outside, etc. And we picked port adventures that were fun but not super long bc we knew that could easily go wrong.

I don't know...my friend went to the Maldives and took her 2 boys, ages 3 and 5, and the pictures are amazing. And they had a great time. I'd endure the flight to go there. My 2 are great flyers- now if only I could say money were no object

I'd do Beaches Turks & Caicos. Great for families with kids all ages. The kids can go to the kids club and you have some hours to relax with your DH. The hotel is great and the service is amazing.

I'd do Hawaii. I'd stay at Disney's Aulani Resort on Oahu and the Four Seasons on Maui.

Re: If money were no object AND kids were coming along...
With babies, I liked cruises. It’s nice to do with a large family and very easy if you do it out of NY. With 2 kids, if you travel off peak, I thought the Haven suite at Norwegian was spectacular. It seriously spoiled us for everything else. Very, very $$$ to do with a family of 5 (maybe we got a deal when we did it?... we were seriously treated like celebrities), so we stopped. Was not wowed by Disney Cruise... but I seem to be one of few.
We now have 3 kids, youngest being 2 and our favorite thing to do is stay at a really nice hotel on the beach. Nice beaches include Aruba, Grand Cayman (my personal favorite), Puerto Rico, even Naples, California, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale Florida. They are all a short flight and amazing beaches. We then spoil ourselves with restaurants. No excursions needed. Some places even have a kids club... though at 2, that severely limits you. I love Marriott brand hotels with kids (for a special stay, Ritz Carlton).
Have a great anniversary! We did one of ours in NYC and it was a blast! Not beachy, not really relaxing, but super memorable.

I have looked into the Haven and I feel like its the only way I would consider cruising. I am not a fan of 4000 people on the ship and all crowded around a small pool on days at sea. And the lines for everything. Gives me anxiety. This though, I could get into. But yes, very expensive. Maybe it's a save up/splurge kind of thing.

I don't think I would do Tahiti with my son, he would be bored after a while. It really is a honeymoon, lovers vacation.

If money were no object AND kids were coming along...
We just got back from Beaches Turks and Caicos on Sunday, had an amazing time. We had a a very relaxing time with our three kids, and they never stepped into the kids club once. We enjoy our family time on family vacations. If money were no object I would love to do an African Safari, eventually we will as the kids get older.
With the age of your children, I think the Caribbean or Hawaii would be perfect for you.

I would probably do a cruise or an all inclusive. Somewhere with childcare. Every family is different but I just did not enjoy long flights with my kids when they were little. I agree Disney cruise is great with little ones. Paradisus Punta Cana-there are family suites and a great kids club. Or Bermuda-such an easy flight. Fairmont Southampton and Tucker's Point are both great.

I was going to say a Safari. Till I saw the ages of the kids.
At that age I would probably do a Sandals vacation someplace exotic.

Re: If money were no object AND kids were coming along...
If money is no object, I could literally go anywhere..... as long as it had good food and a spa and a good hotel.
I like warm places and I also like overseas travel.
so- many different places in italy greece coast australia hawaii new york city/manhattan aruba beaches turks and caicos disney world orlando san diego spain london ... i can keep going lol
But maybe you'd like places I don't: -Alaska -Middle of America -Paris -Dubai
whats important is what do you LIKE? warm? cold? beaches? pools? spas? good food? events/activities in the hotel? cities with a lot to see? museums? kids clubs? far away? close to home? all inclusive? multi-hops, like a few places at a time? stay in the same place?
