If there's a gestational sac, is ectopic pregnancy possible?
I thought I was 6 weeks today but I had an internal sono bc I have had some spotting and all they could see was the sac. They said I am probably not as far along as I thought but now I feel like I have a little pain in my lower abdominal on the left side and I'm worried about ectopic pregnancy. Is this possible even if they see the sac in the right place?

I went to the doctors at what I thought was 6 weeks and I was 5 weeks. I only saw the sac she had me come in the following week and I was able to see the baby and heartbeat. I was not spotting but i also had lower abdominal pains but my doc told me they were growing/stretching pains

The dr can see where the sac is at this point. If it was growing outside of the uterus they would tell you ASAP.

As long as they saw it in the uterus it wouldnt be ectopic. They probably would have told you if it wasn't in the uterus though.

I had the same pain. Its just a leutal cyst from when the egg broke free. Totally normal and should eventually go away. You can always call the dr. And ask about it ifitsreally bothering you. They still saw my cystat my 12 week NTscan. I had painuntil about 10 weeks then it stopped.

As long as they saw the sac in the uterus it's not etopic. Your weeks may just be off by one. Don't stress

I hope this is the case - trying not to stress but it's hard!

Re: If there's a gestational sac, is ectopic pregnancy possible?
The only time this can happen is if you conceived twins and one implanted in the fallopian tube, one in the uterus. But it is pretty rare! I would be 99.9% sure there is no ectopic. With my ectopic, I had the most intense crippling pain in my side and nothing in my uterus. HTH!
