If things are slowly and cautiously starting to open back up
I don’t see the sense in opening up now with just a few weeks. I do think they will open in September. I think we are all going to be okay in 2 years we will look back and say damm 2020, that crazy year when we had to wear masks and couldn’t be near people and we made it out of that okay...

Re: If things are slowly and cautiously starting to open back up
My son is also in kindergarten and is fine with the mask. And he has ADHD and sensory issues. We even had a BBQ with my in-laws and he kept it on the whole time, except while eating (we at separate tables). We've explained the virus and how it is spread and he does understand at a basic level. I get it not all the kids the same, but like the previous poster said, I don't think we are giving kids enough credit. Kids model the behavior that they see too so maybe modeling mask wearing and appropriate social distancing can help, along with hand washing and hygiene.

Was it a paper mask? I would assume if schools require children to wear masks they are going to have to provide said masks—which will likely be daily disposable ones. My daughter (who for the most part is a total rule follower) had to wear a mask at the doctors office once and after 2 minutes she had chewed a hole through it WHILE wearing it. I have no idea how she did this but seemingly it was pretty easy, and the nurse said it happens frequently. She was probably in 1st grade at the time.

No it was a cloth mask. I'm sure they exist but we haven't seen disposable children's masks. We ordered reuseable cloth ones and my husband bought a sewing machine to make masks (he's a little nuts to be honest). I can totally see that happening with paper masks. If that's the case, then maybe schools would use something else. Or maybe no masks. I feel like it is too early to make assumptions or jump to conclusions.
