If this is what 9 1/2 weeks looks like...

So there is no hiding it now. What once was a debate between... "Hmmmm... is she fat or is she preggos? " is really a debate no more.

On Friday they moved me off of my insanely crowded lunch duty. I had to get a doctor's note and am now in the library which really isn't a complete breeze but I'll deal.

Well, the rumor mill (my school and town is so gossipy) started up full force. I "came out" to my dept. at a meeting on Monday and then everyone else on Tuesday. My students were and lots of congrats and (I teach high school). One girl asked, "Well, you are coming back to prep us for the Regents right?" Ummm... yeah, whatever kids... you are on your own... I've waited a longggggggg time for this. Didn't say that just avoided the question.

Went maternity clothes shopping today... yes, already. I have barely bought any clothes for over two years between the wedding, house construction and TTC... so a $100 shopping spree was a lot for me I asked the woman what size I should get if I'm pg with twins and she said XL. BTW: I was clearly the oldest soon to be mom in the place... two girls looked like they could be my students and they were far from ever being XL's...

So, this time two years ago I bought my wedding dress at Burtons and now I am down the same street buying maternity clothes

I'm not worried about my age. What I was thinking is... wow, some of these girls look and probably are so young. I'm glad that I had many years to complete my education, build my career over the last 13 years, experience life and save money. I'm really glad I had many years to myself before DH and before having kids. I think I'm calmer and more experienced about a lot of things now than I was at their age.

I'm glad it happened later. I'll never have the feeling of... "I wonder if I ever could have..."

I'm not worried about my age. What I was thinking is... wow, some of these girls look and probably are so young. I'm glad that I had many years to complete my education, build my career over the last 13 years, experience life and save money. I'm really glad I had many years to myself before DH and before having kids. I think I'm calmer and more experienced about a lot of things now than I was at their age.

I'm glad it happened later. I'll never have the feeling of... "I wonder if I ever could have..."

You look great... I cant imagine an XL on you - you are so tiny except for that little bump!!!

BTW - how old are you? Judging by those pictures, you look like you must be around my age (I'm 32 - will be 33 in November....) And I am also so glad that I am having my 1st at an age where I am truly ready for it!!!

Don't know where the time went... I swear it seems like yesterday I was sitting in Sr. Nora's English class reading Eugene O'Neill and daydreaming about my prom dress... but then I realize that was 1987

I border on a M/L pre-preggo so with twins I'll definitely be XL I joked with my students today that maybe Macy's will have me in the Thanksgiving Day parade "Oh, there's Sponge Bob and coming up right behind him is Mrs. K"

My parents were in their late 30s with my sister and early 40s with me. My mom always says that she's so gad she lived her life fully before having children because it helped her enjoy us much more. She never felt like we held her back and they were financially settled before having us, so money wasn't a worry.

You look great!! I can't believe how much you're showing already. I found out I was PG at 9 weeks and I remember that my pants were tight, but I couldn't get maternity yet. What a difference twins make!! That's so great!

eta. by the way, I saw 9-1/2 weeks. I don't think you look like Kim Basinger. More of the intellectual type. Hmm...Lynda Carter in her younger days, but without the Wonder Woman costume.

You look wonderful! I'm so happy for you! Enjoy maternity clothes shoppping, it's FUN! I wouldnt buy XL now though, you are so tiny it will be huge on you. I'd start with M or L, which ever is more comfortable and then at the end get bigger sizez. Also one word of advice, get pants with panels - forget the elastic waist pants, you'll get WAY more use out of the panels because they stretch so much (Motherhood and Old Navy are great for these). Also buy tops that will stretch with you - don't buy many blouses or shirts like that - you'll outgrow them so fast. Even at 9mos I could wear my smaller stretchy maternity stuff bc it stretched with me. happy shopping!!

I think you look terrific!!!! I took pictures every week and I love looking back to see how I grew.
