If ur child has a milk allergy...
does insurance cover ur formula? I called my insurance and they said my doc needs to submit a form and they will let us know in 30 days-How much is Alimentium or Nutramagin (sp)??

My insurance (United Healthcare Choice Plus) covers Neocate for my DD with a $20 copay every 90 days. They ship it to me for free as well. They would do the same for Nutramigen and a few others. I didn't need a pre-approval; the ped. GI just faxed over the prescription and they filled it.

My alimentum is covered with no copay. The pedi put in a script and faxed it over. It was done. Its been a lifesaver.

It was 2 years ago, but those weren't covered on our plan, only ones like Neocate that you need a prescription for. Anything that was available over the counter was denied.
