If you can't do your own taxes...don't use Turbo Tax...

I guess people are just assuming that you'd do their taxes for them?
Turbo Tax and TaxAct are soo easy to do yourself!

They can't figure out where to put their gain/loss info and can't read a 1099! Nor can they figure out how to calculate cap gains and losses or what methods to use.

When I was pregnant with Caden I worked as a temp for an accountant. You'd be surprised how many of his old clients...who were now doing their own taxes..used to call him up for advice on how to do things!!!!

those don't sound like the kind of taxes you should be doing on your own
why take the chance? it's not that much to have an accountant do them and 100% worth every penny IMO

Yep we paid the $250 to get a pro to do it. My dad was an accountant for his career but never did taxes as part of his living and he was doing mine for free for years. Went to a tax accountant and found out I was not getting the returns I should have certain years because my father didn't know about certain tax breaks for students.
If you have lots of diff. accounts/money tied up various areas easier to go to a tax accountant.

I agree. Many people who don't think they need accountants really do. In addition, it is amazing how many people want services for free. Your time and brains are your commodities and many people want to take freely of them. What's worse is when the friends who deserve some time feel so bad for asking, yet others take so freely.
