If you could build a new house...
And put whatever you wanted in it (for example a jacuzzi tub) what would it be?

radiant heating in the floors solar power for entire house green buliding materials like bamboo floors instead of wood energy star appliances walk out basement outdoor kitchen jacuzzi in MB but not as big as the one I have now, it uses too much water. laundry area near bedrooms balcony or terrace off master bedroom. Smart house system Mud room/potting room to be used as everyday entrance.

Re: If you could build a new house...
Kitchen: *Northland Refrigerators - (2) 36" wide to be placed side-by-side *Northland Freezer - (1) 30" wide to be placed next to refrigerators *FranklinChef Ice Machine - to be built into cabinets *(1) dishwasher *(2) warming drawers *(2) ovens *potfiller by stove *higher counter tops (I'm tall, so I don't want standard height.) *Labrador Antique Granite (doesn't have to be used for all the counter space, but I want it at least as a feature somewhere in the kitchen.)
Butler's Pantry: *shallow open shelves so bowls, multiple dinnerware sets, vases, etc. can be seen and easily accessed *commercial stainless steel sink (2 compartment) with stainless steel drying shelves above it *full-size dishwasher *(1) draw dishwasher (basically for glassware)
Laundry room: *(2) washers & dryers *Linen Folder *large folding table *garment racks
Walk-in Closets: *I basically want Mariah Carey's
Master Bedroom: *mini-refrigerator (hidden in armoire or built-in within the master bathroom cabinetry)
*Multiple Woodburning Fireplaces throughout, but with large openings (4-5')
*Lots of reclaimed wood from old barns and homes!!!
to be updated!

Re: If you could build a new house...
this is so funny, cause we are building a new house and we are doing everything that everyone is saying
Vaulted ceiling, huge state of the art kitchen with granite, double convection ovens, separte beverage center, warming drawer, separate ice maker that makes 50 pounds of ice per day, trash compactor, and center island, radiant floors, wood floors throughout Flat screen tv's that look like picture frames, but roll up.
Gas fireplace in master, his and her walk in closets, laundry room on the 2nd floor where all the bedroom are, Huge master bathroom with double sinks, 3 person jacuzzi tub, 7 foot shower with 20 jets, and room for 10 people.
Separate bath for the other 3 bedrooms with double sinks, all extra bedrooms with walk in closets
Huge theater room, gym, office, server room in the basement
Also we are doing a completely automated home, called smart home, everything is remotly controlled including the blinds on the windows.
Huge tri level deck, jacuzzi, inground pool with waterfalls, pavers, circular driveway. built in bbq,

A two-car garage, a family room, and a big kitchen. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Re: If you could build a new house...
Sounds like most of you want to move to Texas. You can get most of what you want in almost all of the new homes in the DFW area.
Gorgeous home loaded with upgrades! This home has combined formals, stunning gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, island and stainless steel cabinets. Master down with sitting area, mbath has jetted tub, sep. shower, sep. vanites and walk in closet. The kitchen, breakfast nook and family room looks out to the big backyard. This lovely home has an office downstairs, pre wired media room, gameroom, and 4 bdrms with walk in closets are all upstairs. Walking distance to the community pool. 2inch blinds, sprinkler system, stone fireplace & 2 car garage
Oh Yea for 269,000.00 with no snow
I don't even want to see what the extra 200K I spent would get me.... Image Attachment(s):

Our friend is living near Austin and they say it is beautiful, and I think it will be the new trend. I just couldn't leave my family or the beaches. It's crazy that money doesn't go far here.
