if you could please spare some prayers for my friend and her DD...UPDATED Sun. 9/7 in first post

My best friend is going through a terrible and scary time right now with her DD, and I think she needs all of the prayers she can get.
Quick back story- my friend and her ex-DH divorced when she was 5 months pregnant with their DD. He was an awful man, treated her terrible and wanted nothing to do with the baby, which was more than fine with her. Her beautiful little daughter was born in 2005, and for the last 3 years they have been doing great, just the two of them.
Apparently, her ex now shows up out of nowhere, and he wants his daughter. He is claiming she is an unfit parent, claiming he has had people spy on her, and that he knows what she does. I don't get this at all. She is a wonderful mother to that sweet little girl. All they have is each other. This man is a nasty, spiteful, evil human being, I can't go into details of what he did but he is a disgraceful human being. Her DD cannot go to him, there's no way he can even have visitation, he is an animal. This will destroy my friend, her DD is EVERYTHING to her.
I know so many LIF ladies need our prayers right now, and she is not one, but I have seen the power of prayer.

Her DD was dropped off with her father about 30 min. ago, and the poor little thing was in hysterics. Clinging to her mothre, crying so hard she was choking, asking mommy to PLEASE not leave her. I am just so angry that he is putting his daughter through this. I know he is an A S S, but you would think he would at least consider the feelings of his child. My friend is so upset right now, I offered to go keep her company, but all she wants is to be alone and for it to be 4:00 so she can go pick her up. Hopefully this will get better, or this will be a long 6 months for them until the next court date is set for.

When I hear stories like this I very much want to believe that bad guys (people) never win

I am leaving for court in a few to be a witness that my friend is a good mother. She has friends, her family, and everyone backing her up, so I pray to God that this b*stard is told NO to ever seeing his daughter. I am dreading knowing that she has to face him today after 3 years. I was up all night on the phone with her, she is terrified that after today, they are going to tell her she needs to hand DD over. I am just waiting for my mom to come and watch DS, and I am off. I'll post an update when I get home later. Thanks again for all the prayers!!

I highly doubt she will have to hand over DD completely, but visittion is likely I would think.

I agree with curliegirl. There is no way she is losing custody, but he may get visitation.

eta. I hope she's going for back child support if he hasn't paid it.

Well, you were all right...her ex DID NOT get custody. However, he will be allowed SUPERVISED visitation every Sunday from 12-4, just to start out and so he can get to know her. Now, my friend never sued for child support because she didn't want anything to do with him, and she is in the position where she can pay for DD herself. The judge did order though that if he wants to see his DD, he must start paying, so he is.
We will all see how the supervised visit goes this Sunday, she is happy that someone will be there watching him, but would rather he didn't see her at all. The judge is going to re-evaluate the case in 6 months, and he is also ordering that the child see a child psychologist once a week. What will happen in 6 months is the judge will decide if he will be allowed visits alone or not, but it was said that since there is no proof that my friend is nothing but a loving mother, he will never get full custody of her. The child is being evaluated by a psychologist though.
The sad thing is, he has done this before with a son from his first marriage. He persues a relationship with his kid, the kid gets to know him, then he loses interest and the kid is left wondering what happened. It's just sad all around, but at least she can stay with her mommy where she belongs! Thanks again for all of the prayers!!
