If you did a 1st birthday video montage...
...how did you do it? Which program? Did you get professional help?
...what songs did you use?

I did a 1st year which was mostly pictures with a few videos....I used "let them be little" and 2 songs from tot story (I have twins)
Their second year was all videos.
I used windows movie maker. It wasn't hard but time consuming. If you want me to share it let me know .

I used One True Media. Super easy to use.
My video was kind of long 
It was all pictures, and it ended with a video of DD's cake smash.
For music I used (not full songs, you can choose lengths, so they faded into other songs).
-Safe and Sound (Matthew West)
-It Wont' Be Like This For Long (Darius Rucker)
-Daughter (Louden Wainwright)
-Never Alone (Lady Antebellum)
That is all I can think of. I can post the video if you want.

I used windows movie maker... I agree, easy but quite time consuming - well, for me it was. it really depends how many details you want to put into it. mine was about 15 minutes long - I did pics and a few videos. hopefully the link works, if you're interested...

Thanks! Would love to see your videos. I watched a bunch on YouTube last night. I loved them.im such a sap. They weren't even my kid and it was emotional. Hahaha

I have a picasa web album that I've been adding pictures to consistently since she was born. At her party, we just hooked the PC up to the tv ad put it on slide show mode and turned the stereo on. A little low tech but it worked

For those who used moviemaker, did you use iPhone/iPad videos? I have so many on there that I wanted to use but moviemaker couldn't recognize the format they were in. How did you use them?

and I was the same way as you when I was getting ready to do mine... watching other people's - kids I don't know - and crying lol
and to answer the post about using iphone videos... I don't have an iphone but I did use cell phone videos. honestly windows movie maker is very quirky, which I'm realizing now as I'm just trying to edit all her videos from her 1st year. I think I got lucky with her montage and picked things that movies maker was compatible with. if you go into the Microsoft forum - they have discussions with links on how to resave files to become compatible with movie maker etc if you need to.
