There is a chance you won't see the heartbeat until week 8, so don't worry if you don't see it at 7.
Yes, please keep this in the back of your mind when you go to the sono (although you may have already gone by the time I've posted this  ). For DS#1, we had a sono at what we thought was week 7 and there was no heartbeat so they told me I miscarried. 
A week later I went back for beta levels and I asked for another sonogram -- saw the heartbeat along with the sac -- turned out they had dated me wrong and I was barely 5 weeks when they thought I was 7 weeks.
That 'miscarriage' is now a 3.5yo. Damn OB...

I had my 1st sono today too!! (6 weeks 3 days), they weren't able to see a heartbeat, but said it was normal. Saw 1 sac, so looks like no multiples... good luck!!

OMG!! I didnt know you got a BFP!! Congratulations!! At 6 weeks we saw the sac and the heartbeat BUT it took a looooooong time to see the heartbeat. I actually got clothed when the sono tech asked if she could try again lol. I actually had to hold my breathe in order to see the heartbeat so dont feel too bad if you cant see it yet. Best of luck!

6w1d we saw 2 sacs and one heartbeat. i had a singleton. good luck!

here's mine from yesterday, we saw the sac (just one) she could barely find the fetalpole but when she did we saw the flickering heartbeat!! she said all she can see for now is one fetal pole, the next one will show alotmore she said!!
