If you don't mind, looking for a little feedback

First, thanks to everyone who is a part of my FB group and those that have frequented my blog. I truly appreciate it!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Second, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love a little feedback on what you think about the blog so far. What things do you like? What things could I improve on? What else would you like to see? Any comments at all are appreciated. It's a work in progress but any feedback will help me to revise as needed and get better as I go along.

Thank you SO much!!!!

For me, I love your recipes but hate having to calculate the nutrition for them. If I could change anything, that's what I would add.

Re: If you don't mind, looking for a little feedback

I'm hungry for sausage and peppers now. Chat Icon

I like what I'm reading. I like your "voice". Sometimes people are too sweet or too enthusiastic and I get annoyed when I read blogs. I did find two typos in the sausage and peppers recipe though.

ETA: I just pinned that sausage and peppers recipe to my food board. Chat Icon

Thank you!! Chat Icon

As for nutritional info it's something I will look into. I like having that info available too on recipes BUT generally speaking, it's not something that HAS to be a part of a written recipe. You will usually see it more often when it's a light, low fat, or healthy version of a meal. But it's absolutely something I will research more and think about. Thank you very much for the feedback. I totally get it. I'm a legal secretary so this is just what I do instinctively when I read. When I found the second typo, the first thought I had was that you likely do this all yourself without a second set of eyes to catch the little things.

Oh, another one I remember was the recipe for Steve's pancakes. There isn't a measurement for the butter. It says 1/2 melted unsalted... tsp? tbsp? Stick? haha...

Great job overall. I like it a lot.

I love it all. When i first saw your blog, i thought "wow, this is so clean and neat looking". Some blogs look a mess and yours looks so professional.
I also love the way you write and I read it all, which is rare because I have the attention span of a newborn.
And, of course, the food. I am NOT a cook. And I want to try a bunch of your recipes.
Keep up the good work!

Re: If you don't mind, looking for a little feedback

Thanks for the recipe and "a" picture. I can't deal with all the recipes with photos of each step. Drives me nuts trying to just get to the dang recipe sometimes.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm actually glad you said this because I was wondering if I should have step by step pics even though I'm not a huge fan of them myself. I guess I made the right choice! Chat Icon I usually scroll past all of those pics too and go right to the recipe, I don't need a million pics, just tell me what I have to do!! lol

Re: If you don't mind, looking for a little feedback

I have to agree with the poster about not loading each post with a clutter of step-by-step pics. We know what cracked eggs are supposed to look like.

I'd like to add it's refreshing that you get right to the point. It's truly a cooking blog. You don't have to scroll much to find the recipe or read and endure alllll about your last trip to Michael's and how the PTA bake sale turned out before you get to the meat of the post. Some blogs are so long-winded and pointless.

Looks good!

If you don't mind, looking for a little feedback

I love the way it is laid out, in a simple, easy-to-read way. You don't bore the audience with long anecdotes about the history of majoram, and if I don't have the time to read a story, I can clearly see that the recipe is right there- without having to click 74 times. I often jump to another page on cooking blogs if the recipe isn't right there.
I love your pictures and tips of the day, which are so practical and easy for someone new to cooking or a seasoned veteran. Chat Icon

Truth!!! I don't need a story, just the recipe please and thank you!

And I really like that you've included the "basics" in your blog. I love to bake, but I'm a dummy when it comes to cooking. So it's refreshing to see tips and tricks for everyday techniques. Keep up the good work! I'll definitely be following! Chat Icon
