Re: If you eat 1500 calories a day or less..
Looks something like this:
2 egg whites 2 pieces low carb french toast.
1/2 low carb whole wheat pita 3 oz extra lean turkey burger (made at home) Salad with vinegar as dressing laughing cow light cheese wedge.
Vanilla Shake (made with some sort of milk..i can't drink regular milk so i substitute), fat free cottage cheese, stevia. I will sometimes add some more carbs here as I am usually having this pre workout (maybe some berries or another piece of low carb bread or a rice cake)
Dinner varies- I eiether have 3 oz chicken, a 3 egg white omelette, turkey chili, turkey burger...etc. Salad/Broccoli/Cauliflower 1/2 a whole wheat low carb pita 1 wedge laughing cow cheese.
2 white cheddar rice cakes with FF cottage cheese on top
that's about it for me!

Re: If you eat 1500 calories a day or less..
It varies daily, I track on the daily plate as well.
An average day is -
B - oatmeal with almond milk, banana & blueberries
L - a big salad with protein (smoked salmon, egg, beans) and tons of veggies & goat cheese.
Dinner - varies, tonight we are having indian from trader joe's. Could be anything really, just measure the portions.
Snacks - greek yogurt, fruit, peanut butter, i make my own trail mix.

Re: If you eat 1500 calories a day or less..
Breakfast for me is usually a hard boiled egg and a banana or string cheese
Lunch is a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, snap peas and some kind of cheese with lowfat dressing
Dinner varies each day. I just take smaller portions of higher calorie dinners.
Snacks are peaches, apples, strawberries, 100 cal popcorn, 90 cal Fiber One Brownies, cheddar cheese sticks, red fat wheat thins, raisins.

I use "Joseph's Bakery" brand pitas...i order them online in bulk.
As for the breads, I have had the pepperidge farm brand which is rpetty good. I buy the current brand from a specialty diet shop in Ronkonkoma. They have a website...it's called the Diet Shop. I purchase the carb Cruncher bread and have found that to be quite tasty with the fewest amount of carbs.

Re: If you eat 1500 calories a day or less..
I ate the following:
Drank mostly water. Tea, switched from Sugar to Truvia, skim milk.
Some Breakfast Items: egg whites, egg white liquid Whole Wheat bread Low sugar Maple Brown Oatmeal Eggo Nutri Grain Waffles - no syrup, smart balance butter Honey Bunches of oat cereal Used the cooking Spray instead of oil (no calories) Turkey Bacon, Turkey Sausage
Snacks: String Cheese - skim milk Laughing cow wedges - 35 calories Bananas grapes Activia yogurt Avocado Hummus Whole Wheat Crackers baby carrots reduced fat/skim cheese Special K crisp
Dinner/lunch Items: Whole Wheat Pasta (small portion) Chicken Breast - balsamic glazed, regular seasoned, lemon chicken cooked meals in cooking spray (smart balance) Soup - Low sodium A lot of Salads - with tuna or low sodium cold cuts, chicken breast, turkey bacon Veggies - corn, broccoli Brown Rice kashi rice pilaf cauliflower mash Protein shakes
alcoholic Drinks -Skinny Bee margaritas, or sugar free red bull with vodka, wine
I was a calorie fanatic, I used to sit in the grocery store and compare the calories of different items. for example which whole wheat bread had the least calories etc. If I was hungry at night, i would drink tea with a little snack.

No specifics for me either, I eat 1200 on rest days and around 1500-1750 on work out days. I use myfitnesspal.com and LOVE it. It really helps me stay on track!

I wouldn't trust the carbs in a lot of the diet shops products
I bought a few products from there and they made my blood sugar spike to numbers I have not seen since before I went on insulin
I ate the low carb pizza- caliming to be 8 carbs- so I gave myself enough insulin to cover 15 to be safe
my blood sugar was 357!

Wow..I have been tracking my macros with these figures for a long time and have had no issues. Perhaps it was that particular product? I have also done some research on this product not from the diet shop site.
As for the pizza-ive had it as well and don't believe that this particular brand is accurate. sorry that happened to you.

Re: If you eat 1500 calories a day or less..
I am sure most of them are ok- espically the ones from more major looking suppliers
I learned that I tend to have issues with "fake" food in general
I am better off eating a real cookie then a low carb, no sugar fake one
most type 1 diabtics are from what I am learning
I was just shocked and upset with my numbers after eating products from there- I threw them all away and they were not cheap at all

I totally understand...for the price you pay there it should be accurate. Did you tell Marilyn? (the owner.) she would be horrified if she knew. She really takes pride in her merchandise. I would definitely tell her.

HAHA that's too funny...he works there a lot. I see him when i go in. You should definitely call and tell her. She took a salad dressing off the shelves because the nutrition info the distributor gave was incorrect. She would be so upset to know that the products that diabetics are/could be purchasing are causing this reaction!
