If you ever had an IUI, come in.. question
Did your RE do u/s BEFORE doing IUI? if so, what he was looking at/for? thanks

He was searching for signs of ovulation. We triggered the day before and found various follies and clear signs of O. Unfortunately no success, yet!

Blood was taken the day before.

same for me, and I am seriously questioning it now. especially when he said I MIGHT be ovulating now how about checking to know FOR SURE?

I've had IUI's at two differnt facilities and neither did a sono or took bloods the day of the actual IUI...I know that some facilities do.
What do you mean he said that you might ovulate today?

i told him i was bloated and cramping and he said: you might be ovulating as we speak.

There was definitley a sono. The RE pointed out the follies to us and explained how they looked like ovulation was about to occur. I did back to back IUIs and we did not do a sono the 2nd day. The blood work was done the day before the IUIs began.

I would have b/w and sono the day before, trigger that night, and then most times no b/w or sono the day of the IUIs. My doc did one on the day of the first sono one time to see if the egg had released and if the second IUI was necessary (it was).

I can't remember if they did bw, but def a sono. Checked to see if I had O'd or was about to and to check the lining of my uterus.

ugh..
If you are, then the sperm is already there, so don't get too worked up about it. You can always for good measure!
You really need to put some more trust in this doctor- or find someone else!

I def had a sono the day of. I was there a few days before and we saw a nice size follie.
I received a smiley a few days later. Went in the morning after, did a sono and found the follie was basically gone. He figured I ovulated and did the IUI anyway in hopes the egg was waiting patiently
and it was!!!

My IUI's were done under ultrasound guidance. So the sperm was injected at the top of the uterus, close to the fallopian tubes. No bloodwork was done though. And none of the IUI's were successful.

um the 4 i had with a dif doc than now... i did the trigger shot then came in a day or two days later. so bloodwork prior.... and no sono the day of..bc we "knew" i had or was about to ovulate bc of the trigger shot..then we at home to cover any time windows.

I had no sono or bloodwork just the IUI....they did bloodwork a week later to confirm that I did ovulate within that cycle.

I had bloods and sono day before. Sono indicated O within a couple of days. Bloods indicated O would be happening sooner than that. Dr explained that "your body knows better than we do." IE: changes in hormone levels are a better predictor than looking at the size of the follies. So, when my bloods came back, she rushed me the trigger and we did IUI the next day. She did not do bloods or sono before IUI, but the nurse did (external) sono while Dr was doing IUI. Did Dr. T do sono with IUI? Did you do trigger?

No, not the day of. I always knew the day before IUI based on that days blood and sono. They coulxd tell by bloodwork alone how close to ovulation I was or not

I always had a sono and bloodwork before IUI and then I had to come back a few days later to make sure I actually ovulated with bloodwk and sono.
They checked for size of lining, how many follies and how big were follies.

It was based on my last sono before I was told to trigger..I think I went on a wed and was told to trigger that night but I had 4 follies...2 of which were more mature than the other 2 so Dr. B was a little afraid the eggs might release on their own that night and not after the trigger. So he told us to that night and then we did b2b IUIs thur and friday. Hope that makes sense. My husbad did have some morph and motility issues too and dr b still had us do this.
We like to think it was the that got us pregnant!
