If you had a christening at a KofC or VFW type hall, question about setting up
We are probably going to have DD's christening at one of these type of halls. Were you able to go before the ceremony to setup? Our church does ceremonies at 1:30, so the party will probably be around 3. I'm sure people will follow us straight from the church, so I don't want to be setting up (centerpieces, table clothes, favor table, etc) in front of my guests. Just curious what others did?

I would check and see if you can do setup the night before. If they don't have anything going on, they may let you. Otherwise I would try for early that morning.

I hired a waitress for the day. She had come before the guests and set things up for me.

Re: If you had a christening at a KofC or VFW type hall, question about setting up
My friend had her baby shower at a VFW and they were there pretty early to set up. She called recently to see if they had availability for the christening and they told her the earliest she could come to set up was an hour and half before the party started because there was a party earlier in the day.
So I would assume as a long as there is no party before hand, you probably could set up when ever.
