If you had a FB business page, would you care

if other people posted on your wall advertising their business? Would yo u delete those wall posts? Leave them? Not care?

I don't have a FB business page but I see it happen often.

i would hope the person asked me first..... and it would also depend on who it is... if it was a good friend i wouldnt care... if it was a random person id probably delete it, unless it was something i was interested in lol

I'd delete

as a consumer, if I am looking at biz on a FB page or something and I see other ads or comments from other businesses (whether related or not) - I find it distracting.

I don't think I would really care...but I would rather them ask me so that I can promote their business for them on my page...KWIM?

if its a competitor then i would delete, if its spam that is irrelevant i would delete but if makes sense then i would allow. Ex. i like to bake and my friend has a tent/party rental business i would share.

I have one and I wouldn't be happy unless it has nothing to do with what I'm selling or doing and I would also expect that person to like my page so it will appear on there website. Only fair.

It happens a lot - I delete them. If they want to work with me they can email me and I'll decide from there. I prefer someone to email me and take the time to compose a message vs. just splattering themselves on my wall. I don't think its professional and gets the possible relationship off on the wrong foot.

If they promote themselves on my page, chances are they won't hear back from me. For me personally,I think its in bad taste to do so.

Unless it were a friend with a RELATED business I'd delete it. As a consumer I hate when a FB page is littered with irrelevant posts for everything from an Avon Lady in Milkwaukee to a free colon cleanse sample I see it as the online equivalent of cleaning the sidewalk of your brick & mortar store.

the page is supposed to advertise the business that it was created for, not as advertisement for somebody who decided to post something else...

It depends on the situation. I do not do reciprocal linking on my business web page although some friends and colleagues offer it. The only links there are for reference materials. So, if I get around to paying attention to my business facebook page, I might bend that policy there so that I can connect with business friends online in some way. I think it could be good for people to know that I'm friends with "so and so" who is a criminal attorney or whatever. I also think it's good for people to see that I speak with other people in my own specialties and they we help each other out when needed. What I might not want on my page is businesses that are either completely unrelated, whose work is adversarial to mine or there may be some where I feel that it is a liability for me to have them on my page. This is my take as an attorney. If I had a more creative type of business I would probably think differently.

This is a question that every business owner should think about. This question could make for a very entry in a business to business type of blog . Barb, I wish I could afford you as some sort of office manager, because you think of these things & I trust you from way back! I already know I cannot pay NYC salaries .

I would delete. If I wanted to share something about a related business I would post it myself.

I have a FB business page. I sure hope it does not post on my FB friends page.

I do think updates/posts I write will post on their page if they "friend" you or "like" you though.

People do this all the time with me. If it is somewhat parenting related and Long Island related, I leave it. If it is for Viagra, or a free iPad, I delete it

That would be annoying! I would delete unless it was posted with my permission. It's just another form of spam IMO.

It would bother me if someone did it without asking. I wouldn't mind cross promoting a friend's related company but I would not let a competitor post on my business page.

I hate when people do this to our FB page. I always delete them. I feel liek people won't want to like our page if they think they're going to see junk in their newsfeed instead of our posts.
