If you had a UTI and took antibiotics for it when did u start to feel better?

Just wondering how long on the antibiotics before you felt noticeably better (and how many pills per day were you taking)? Thanks in advance so much!!

I took two pills a day. However I never had any symptoms of a UTI. The Dr. found it during routine urine check.

Usually within a few hours i felt better but they would give me antibiotics with the pain medication that turns your pee orange which they can't give you while your pregnant. Without the pain meds i would say within 24 hours you should start feeling better. I have a history of chronic UTI so im pretty familiar with all the UTI meds, i think i have had each one at least twice! I hope you feel better!!

It depends on how bad it has been - shortest time 24 hours longest 72 hours. If you have had it for several days (which I think you have - it might take longer) but remember some might be early pregnancy symptoms and some might be UTI.

If you aren't feeling any difference by tomorrow I would call only b.c it is a Friday and you will have been on the meds for 3 days which should be enough - usually - 24-48 hours is enough to feel at least a little better - even if you don't feel 100% better yet (which can take a few days).

3rd or 4th day I finally felt better ( I was having constant cramping, and burning and pressure)...

I was taking two macrobid a day...

Normally I feel better after 2 full days of meds (macrobid or Augmentin) but this time I have been on it for 2 days and it feels like it is getting worse I just want relief and can't seem to get it. I am giving it one more day and then calling the doctor. I am hoping it hasn't spread.
If you are still feeling worse after 3 days on meds I would call the doctor. You may have a resistant bacteria that needs a stronger med then what you are on.

i had to take 3 pills 3x a day. i didnt feel better until i was almost finished with the meds. and ihad forgotten to take 2 doses one day b/c i left it at work. so i only prolonged it.

Just found out today that I have a low grade UTI from doing a urine culture regarding a little protein in my urine.

Did not even know I had one, did not really have symptoms. Only took one pill with dinner so far (3 a day for a week with meals) and no difference yet. I just wonder if some of the discomforts I thought came with this late in pregnancy were really UTI symptoms so maybe I'll start feeling a little perky in a day or two! I'll check in if I notice any improvements!

Thanks Christine. I really don't feel any better. I actually feel worse!! B/f hand (getting the culture) I didn't really have any UTI symptoms but, I feel like I am starting to get some starting yesterday

I had a terrible UTI when pregnant with DD and was on antibiotics, but I don't remember the dosage.

It took about 24 hours to feel some relief.

I am feeling ok today. The cramping syptoms that I am having seem to get better and worse. It is just SO hard b/c I am not sure if this is UTI related or pregnancy related

I am going to call today if the cramping comes back again.
