if you had an ectopic, or "ruled it out..."
would you mind sharing what happened?
I have been having a pain on my left lower side for a week. And I'e been crampy on and off all week (which I THINK is normal). I'm 6 weeks 2 days (I think) now. I finally called the midwifes yesterday, and they said it could be just a cyst, but have to rule out an ectopic.
so I went for bloodwork to check hcg levels yesterday, and go back tomorrow. I have a sonogram on friday.
when I go tomorrow I'm going to ask what my first numbers were, so at least I can start to have an idea where I'm at. this next week is going to go very slowly i'm afraid!
ETA: Talked to the midwife and they said my numbers are good so far - 107,000! so they aren't too concerned. i will go for the next bloodwork tomorrow, and then sono on friday. Thanks for your responses ladies!!!!

Re: if you had an ectopic, or "ruled it out..."
I had a heterotopic...two eggs released and fertilized...one landed in the right tube and the other made it to the uterus...both implanted...neither survived.
At about 6w4d I had really bad cramping. I went in to work and slept on the train...the whole time feeling it. That night after I put my son to bed and went to the bathroom I saw blood. It was just a little at first but by the next morning it was getting heavier and it was a dark red.
The sono tech did an amazing job discovering that two eggs released and she searched for a while until she found where both implanted...between her efforts and my doctor's they saved my tube.
The sono will be most helpful but at the same time...cramping is very normal during pregnancy. Your uterus is stretching...my cramping that time was very painful. With this pregnancy I have felt cramping on and off but nothing compared to that...and it has been a healthy pregnancy.
Good Luck!

Re: if you had an ectopic, or "ruled it out..."
I had an ectopic that caused me to lose my right tube via emergency surgery. I had a series of pregnancy losses and believed I was having a miscarriage. I had been away and missed getting bloodwork done. I was bleeding and had intense cramping. It is not a pain you can ignore. Actually the night before the surgery I was laying on my stomach in the tub because I was in so much pain. I hope it works out for you

I would have the sonogram sooner especially if an etopic is suspected. Can you see if they can get you in sooner?

Re: if you had an ectopic, or "ruled it out..."
I had one...if you are that far along you will know if its ectopic...at 6 weeks I couldnt move...my tube ruptured...it would literally feel like you were stabbed...not a cyst...the numbers dont generally get that high with EP but if you really feel it could be and the pain is bad go tot he ER, your tube will rupture and you can bleed to death, not trying to scare you...sorry
I also had gotten my period since the HCG level is usually pretty low...
ETA I had NO cramping-just felt like I was stabbed so everyone is different..
