If you had wood or laminate floors installed
can you recommend the company you used (or give warning about a company Not to use! ). Also, how were their prices?
We have Empire coming tomorrow evening for an estimate. I've heard that they're pretty expensive compared to others, but with their buy 1 get 2 free right now, i figured it was worth checking out.
Any recommendations? Thanks!

Re: If you had wood or laminate floors installed
empire has a good reputation.... we had a nightmare experience with home depot expo (they wanted to install 2 different lots of flooring... you could tell the color difference between the planks ) can't help but think that others had similar experiences, and it contributed towards their demise....

Re: If you had wood or laminate floors installed
We bought the floors from Lumber Liquidators, and then a friend of DH's installed them.
A horrible pic, but you can see the work:
His friend does floor installation and masonry as a side business--FM me if you want his info. He was very reasonably priced, but DH also helped out with the work.

They came out Great!!! We're still considering doing them ourselves also- i think hearing a ridiculously high number tomorrow from Empire will probably set that idea in stone

The hardest part was the cutting--for us with baseboard heating, each piece had to be cut kind of weird to exactly fit the heating. The moldings have to be removed and then reinstalled after the floors are installed. I'll have to take REAL after pics--our furniture is all moved in now so it looks better!
