if you have a 2 story house, where do you change your DC's diaper?
Right now, we have a PNP w/ changing table downstairs and dresser/changing table upstairs, but once I go back to work, the PNP is going to my brother's where my mom will be watching DS for me.
Do I need to get something to replace the PNP which had a changing table, or do you just change DC on the floor or sofa?

Re: if you have a 2 story house, where do you change your DC's diaper?
On the main level, once we broke down the PnP with the changing table, I change DS on the couch or floor (with the supplies on a shelf on the wall unit). In his room, we still use the changing table. Once the baby is here, DS is getting big boy furniture and the baby will get the nursery furniture. I will still change DS in the baby's room or on the floor. Haven't thought all that through just yet...

We have the PNP in our den and changing table upstairs. If I didn't have the PNP I think I would just go upstairs to change him at this point (if he was younger and fussier I'd probably do it right on the floor).

Floor or sofa is fine I think. We change it on the bed if we are upstairs or on the sofa if we are downstairs.

I have a small changing table on the first floor. I had 2 under 2 (and still have 2 in diapers) - It makes things easier and more organized.

Our guest room is on the first floor, so I usually change them on the bed in there.

When Ava was little, we had a changing pad that we kept on the first floor and would change her on that on the floor or on the table.

I use the ottoman from my sofa set to change DS...sometimes the floor if he's moving around too much.

I used to have a PNP in my dining room. I only used it for the changing station. Now I use the couch to change DS.

Re: if you have a 2 story house, where do you change your DC's diaper?
I always just go upstairs to his changing table. When he was a newborn though we lived in an apt and only had one level. It doesn't bother me at all now but, I would imagine if I had another DC I would have to have one downstairs too.

I have a split level house. I go upstair about 6 steps to DS's room to change him. I prefer to walk up to his room because I have all of the stuff I could need right there.

Re: if you have a 2 story house, where do you change your DC's diaper?
I have always used the floor, couch or bed. I used the changing pad on top of the dresser maybe twice and got rid of it. It was so ackward and annoying to me.

Re: if you have a 2 story house, where do you change your DC's diaper?
I was never crazy about the diaper changing area of my pnp. It didnt' seem very sturdy. We have two changing stations one upstairs in her room and one downstairs for during the day. I use an old dry sink that we were using as a bar for the changing station. worked out great!
