If you have a kitchen AND a dining room...
Are the rooms coordinated in terms of color and style? Is your casual china similar to your formal china? I only have casual china, but I love it and it's been discontinued, so I may make that our "good" china and get something else for everyday.

Ours compliment - natural oak wood in both rooms. China is very different. One is platinum and one is ceramic (I believe).

Re: If you have a kitchen AND a dining room...
My kitchen is off my DR and yes, the colors are kind of similar, but it wasn't intentional. My formal dishes are not very fancy and have a pattern with a cream flower. My everyday are plain cream, and can be combined with the formal if I need to stretch it, if you KWIM.

I have both- pics in my album- they are different- but I would consider them coordinating only because my entire house coordinates...
China is very different though...

Re: If you have a kitchen AND a dining room...
The colors of our kitchen and dining room do not match. Our kitchen is a pale grey with light oak cabinets and blue counter tops. our dishes are blue and cream.
Our dining room is chocolate brown and our china is while with platnimum rim (i think...it's still in boxes because we haven't gotten our dining room set yet).
Our dining room and living room compliment each other because of the open floor plan. (pictures are in my album)

Complete opposites. My kitchen is country and my dining room is more traditional. The colors are different as are the floors.

Re: If you have a kitchen AND a dining room...
Both rooms are contemporary looking, I guess. My kitchen is white with light brown cabinets and white appliances. My dining room is red with a dark wood dining room set, with white uphosterery.
My formal china doesn't match my casual settings, but I never use them together, so who cares?

Re: If you have a kitchen AND a dining room...
They are similar in colors but that is all...
Kitchen is very light oak with dark granite countertops. Dishes are earth tones (browns) & I have the Italian chef motif going on.
Dining room is more modern with dark cherry furniture, formal china is white with silver. I have red/gold stripped curtains...
