If you have a patterned accent chair in your living room

can you post pics of your room?
DH and I want fun accent chairs but are having a hard time coordinating with the sofa & rug (which we don't have yet - all are just ideas). I am very plain and boring with my decor. Pics please!!

I am definitely not the greatest decorator but I have a bold chair. I had such a hard time finding a rug that went with it but I love this one. Sorry the pictures are a little dark I just took them and forgot to turn on some lights. I still need to change or add things on the wall. I am not liking what I have there now

We are just in the process of finishing our living room. We purchased everything from Ethan Allen. You get to choose the prints, fabrics, & wood for everything out of 1000's of selections.

We went with a bold print for our chair and ottoman. Then a solid couch with some patterned Pillows. I love mixing bold patterns.

I am horrible at attaching pictures -- don't know if this will attach!

But we have 2 striped chairs, and the fabric on the chairs match two of the accent pillows on the couch. We picked the wall color first, then bought the rug, and then selected the fabric last (we went to Bassett, and they had a designer that helped us select the custom fabrics).

ETA - Sorry pic is so tiny... maybe I have another.

We are going through Bassett too. There are just too many choices. We worked with someone and thought we had a decision made, but then we said, what kind of rug would we get? Now I feel like our selections wont work. Maybe we should choose a rug first and go back to bassett.

Yeah, it was a little overwhelming. I found the formal living room difficult in terms of decorating, because I knew my furniture would be "permanent" investment pieces.

I knew I wanted a green shade on the walls, and I wound up with a BM color called Par Four (it's pale green with grey undertones). Then, we found an area rug at bloomingdales that was in shades of pale green, ivory, gold, burgundy. When we described it to the designer at Bassett, she helped us select the color fabrics. Our couch is ivory and has ivory/lght gold throw pillows and pillows that match the striped armchairs, which are shades of dark red, goldish yellow, and sage green.

We picked up a lot of the colors in the rug in the fabric, or at least chose complimentary colors, so the rug was definitely inspiration. You may have luck if you select a rug first.

I wish my pic had posted bigger. I have other pics that I tried to post, but then those pics were too LARGE to attach, so I gave up!

I don't, but my mom does. She has a light blue sofa with a light blue and white checked accent chair. Very country chic. I don't have a picture of the whole room, but here's a wedding pic and on the right hand side you can see the chair.



ETA: I'm right there with you, I can't find anything coordinating that I like!
