If you have an infant and an older child

If you have the older child (preschool aged) enrolled in activities during the day, like dance or nursery school, etc. how do you set and keep a schedule for the baby? I feel like my baby has never established a schedule because she is always being jockeyed around, with every day being different. I don't know how to get her on track.

Seriously, my second child has no set schedule because of this. In a weird way, it's been a real blessing. She is very adaptable and flexible and it's nice to not be ruled by a schedule the way I was with my first. I can't even imagine how it works with a third child! :)

Neither has ever had a schedule. We just go with the flow here. Works for us.

The more kids you have the more flexible the schedules become. Naps start taking place in the car, bottles are while you are out and about. Just try your best to keep everything pretty consistent, but when you have more than one its impossible to plan your life around naps times and bedtimes everyday.

Re: If you have an infant and an older child

We had a set schedule for our little one with a little give in it. Instead of saying that she would get her cereal for breakfast at 9 am(like my older DD did) we give it to her between 8:30 and 9:30 depending on the day. But pretty much we got a schedule, just that the times are within 1/2 to an hour time frame. That worked for us.
