If you have been to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese...

How long do the parties usually run?
Can we show up early and play prior to the beginning of the party?
What is the typical schedule? Play and then pizza/cake?

We are supposed to go to Great Wolf in 2 weeks. DS got invited to a bday party at Chuck E Cheese at 11. Was hoping to go early and play on our own before the party starts and leave early.

I vaguely remember CEC parties from when I was a kid. I think we ate first and then got a handful of tokens to play afterward.

I guess you could play early, but you would have to pay for your own tokens, as I would imagine the party host won't hand them out until the party starts?

Usually it's play, then food, and more play time after.

ETA: I think they are about 2 hours, but since you can play more after the food, there really is no set end time.

I've been to a couple and they always played first and then eat pizza and cake. You can stay afterwards to play and I am sure you can go early and use your own money to play games.

the party is usually play for an hour, then eat food, then cake. then people can stay later and keep playing. like a pp said, if you go before the party starts you will have to buy your own tokens.

I don't mind buying our own tokens but if we are going to play for an hour or so anyway before pizza/cake, it defeats the purpose of going early.

I guess it will just cut into our Great Wolf time.
