so, it's happened. Luce's first Chuck E. Cheese party
is this Saturday, in Flushing.
I have to admit that places that don't do private parties really make me nervous after something that happened with one of my nieces when she was 3 at funtime USA (I had to physically rip these 3 big boys off of her and out of a tube. I couldn't see her and they were basically climbing over her and pushing her down ).
any tips? what will he be able to play with at this age?
I will say my kid seems to be pretty fearless. he attacked every ride/toy at the Bounce place a few weeks ago...even all the slides. but it was only us. no big strange children. the kids in my family cower at my evil eye I don't want to have to kill some kids mom b/c she let her kid mow mine over.

Just wanted to wish you Luck.. I've never been to Check E. Cheese....but the thought of trying to watch kids in a large area like that....makes me

Ugh I hate these places....they scare me. Especially after Teddy was almost stomped by a kid in one of them. My suggestion is the rides only. Don't let him in the actual tunnel, play area. If anything take him to a park after Jess.

now I am really scared. Nothing to be scared of Jess, he's just still too young for that!! Might I add anything I can't go on with him, like the tubes, or slide (at that age) he's not going on it at all!!

We had a kids party this past weekend (at a restaurant mind you) and it took everything in me to not smack someone after this 4 year old clotheslined my sweet, dear, little 16 month old DD down!
I'm sure Luce will be fine.

Not sure how old Luce is, but, if you keep him in the toddler area, he will be fine.

adults can go in the tubes but if you hae neice around 7 or 8 i w ould ltet them take him in the tubes if they want - at that age i would not let him go alone

ditto. Its changed a LOT since we were kids. There is no ball pit, and the sky tubes have a seperate entrance. Keep him the toddler area, he'll be fine!! Its actually very safe & clean, trust me.

Its pretty mucy common sense, if you have a little kid, don't let him out of your sight! Its different if you have a kid who is 4 or 5, but a really little one, he should stick with you or another adult.
Have fun!

We had a party on Saturday at Chuck E Cheese, and DS was hysterical for the first 1 hour, and then loved it. As we were leaving he went hysterical again because he didn't want to leave. He did have a good time, and your son will love it.

DS has been to Chuck E Cheese once with my nephews when he was 2. And there was absolutely nothing for him to do there. He spent most of his time watching DH play the games

stay NO MORE than 3 feet behind him. Might I suggest a leash.
with that said... too bad I don't live in Flushing anymore!! I would have showed up and tried to take Luce without you looking... Learn you a lesson!

I am picturing Jess pounding on you and ripping off your face
complete with a lion's growl!

Re: so, it's happened. Luce's first Chuck E. Cheese party
I hate Chuck E Cheese, especially on the weekends. It will be very over crowded, but as long as you stick by your dc then you should be fine. I usually never let my dd out of my site and we've been going to birthday parties there for a few years. But remember to bring a bunch of those antibacterial wipes. A LOT of them..those places carry so many germs.

I was going to reply to Caroline that she'd be immediately escorted out since no one would believe she was a mom due to total fabulousness and good hair. but this literally made me roll on the floor.

Yup...I totally follow DD around and she is 3 and big for her age. Also since he's still little I would keep him in the toddler play area. Most of the CEC have them and it's a smaller area with things for younger toddlers. The big kids tend to stay out of those areas..I would try to keep him there as much as possible. You will be fine.
