If you have inlaws that live out of town....
Do they stay with you and how long do they stay?
I just want to see if its typical for inlaws coming to stay for LONG visits frequently... we never know when they are leaving!!
(please dont quote)

Re: If you have inlaws that live out of town....
My IL's are out of town, but when they stay they stay at my BIL's house - he had and extra bedroom made for them. They sometimes stay up to 6 weeks in a stay - usually over the summer, when it is too hot in FL

Re: If you have inlaws that live out of town....
We put family in a hotel. My family lives too far away and we don't have a spare bedroom. Sometimes I wish they didn't have to spend so much money just to see their grandson. My in-laws live just over an hour away, so they don't stay overnight.

MIL has never visited, I don't think she ever will...if she did she can stay here.
FIL visited once, I will never have him stay with us. He stayed in hotel across the street.

Well, I have the opposite. My IL's live here, MY family lives OOT (far). They stay with us when they come down. I have a small house, so it makes it quite interesting. But I think it makes my mom feel better (since she doesn't get to see her all the time) that she can see her the whole day, including early mornings and at bedtime.

Re: If you have inlaws that live out of town....
The first year they moved away, before we even had kids, they stayed with us for 4 out of the 12 months.
When dd was born they stayed with us for about a month and one night toward the end we had a huge blowout, I said some things I probably shouldn't have (although I stand by them) and they stay in hotels now. Once in a while they will stay with us for a night or so, but that's about it.

They come up for a week at a time & stay with us. Often it's just MIL visiting.

Re: If you have inlaws that live out of town....
They come up for the weekend at least once a month, sometimes two.
MIL will stay with me for a week or two when DH travels.
No complaints from me though...I get to sleep in and actually get things done when they're here!

Unless they want to camp out on our love seat, they stay at a hotel!

They stay at a hotel and MIL has family in westchester so they usually spend a week on LI and a week there...give or take.
