If you have National Grid- Balanced Billing and Usage Question?

After payment of my next BB installment there's a balance in my favor of $400+ dollars. I *think* I remember that at some point they send us a check, and I thought it was around this time of year. I don't really remember because honestly times were hard, and it's been awhile since we were on time all year with gas pmts like we are now. Will I get a check, or will they just lower my future payments to balance it out?

Also, our usage is always MUCH higher than what it says for "Similar Customers Average Usage." Do you also find this to be the case? I was thinking maybe their averages are off, but maybe our meter is off, or our equipment is really inefficient and that's why the bills are so high. For example the last bill showed the "high average" usage as 89 therms, and we used 441 therms. Does that sound about right for a 2F house?

Please let me know I am clueless on this and I'm totally broke from paying gas bills!

They wont be sending you a check. I believe they use it towards your future bills, probably lowering your monthly payment for awhile.
