if you have seen the movie Gone Baby Gone... (probable spoiler alert)
do you think that what Casey Affleck's character did was right? would you have made the same decision?
ETA: i am so torn... especially after the last scene when she leaves him watching the child but morally, i don't know if i could have looked the other way...

SPOILER alert below....
I saw it a while ago, so it's a little fuzzy, but if your talking about finding out Morgan Freeman had the girl and letting her be returned to her mother? I am soooo torn. I think the very last part of the movie where the mom leaves to go out and leave Casey Affleck to watch her daughter spoke volumes in that case!

Left me TORN to this day. Great movie...no idea what the right thing to do was.
I know at the end of the movie, I felt like he should have let the girl be with Morgan....but at the time, torn.

Besides leaving her DD she also gave the media the wrong name of her doll
I would have left her with Morgan Freeman.

I would have left her with Morgan Freeman for sure.
ETA: this is one of my favorite movies...Casey Affleck was ridiculously amazing and Ed Harris was good too.

I am torn also. I know the real right thing was to return her to her mom but emotionally, I would have wanted her to staty with Morgan Freeman. Awesome movie, one that you def have to wathc until the very end !!

While I wish the mom were different, I agree that he did the right thing.
It is not up to him to make the decision that the child is better off with another family. That's a court decision.
eta if you agree with his decision, then what is to stop some random person who doesn't agree with your parenting from taking your child? Vigilante justice is one of the moral dilemmas I struggle about, but disagree with.

He did the right thing. But the last scene breaks my heart. I was hoping that the mother would have learned her lesson after what happened, but she obviously didn't.
