If you have used the infamous Fernando for your paver work...
Can you please FM me (or post here if you're comfortable) what you had done and the cost?
We are putting in a semi-inground pool and I'd LOVE to call Fernando to give an estimate for a multi layered pavered deck around the pool, a walkway and a back stoop.
I'd love to know an APPROXIMATION of how much he charges before we go pool shopping this weekend just so I know what we're in for.
If you have pics, I'd love to see them too so I can show the DH.
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't used him, but I'm curious about how you are going to do your semi in ground pool! I really want an in ground but I'm having a tough time convincing dh. Have you found any pics of what you plan on doing? I'd love to see them!

We were going to do an inground also. I called 2 companies and was told they couldn't fit the excavator into my yard (I have a detached garage but it is enclosed with a breezeway and there is only a 5 foot clearance).
So...we are opting for a semi inground which will have to be hand-dug.
We will start shopping this weekend, but I will keep you posted on what we find.

Re: If you have used the infamous Fernando for your paver work...
We used him and he did 2 big jobs for us.
In the front, he did a a walk way from front door to drive way, we are ground level, so no stoop. Then he did a driveway that can fit 6 or 8 cars. It is black top in middle and pavers all around and an apron.
In the backyard, he did a huge patio and fire pit. I don't know square footage, but it goes from one side of the house to the other, across the back.
I think both projects together were about $18-$20k.
They worked quickly and were very professional. We are very happy with the results.

I didn't use him,but I think a general rule is a fair price would be $9-$11 per sq./ft. This should include all the underlayment, the paver and the special sand to fill in the gaps. The paver will also depend on price because some are more expensive than others.

What kind of fence do you have around your property? We had a huge cherry tree removed and the stump grinder wouldn't fit through our gate so the tree company removed a portion of our fence to fit it through on the other side.
We also used Fernando and he did 2 large patios, walkway, stoop, and cobble stones around the perimeter of our fence (our dog likes to dig). It was about $7k. We just had him extend one patio this year which was another $1k. Excellent work. I would recommend him to everyone.
