If you live on the South Shore in the areas that are more likey to be flooded
Are you packing up anything to grab in case you have to leave your house due to flooding? What kinds of things?
I was thinking about throwing our wedding pictures, the baby books, important papers into a rubbermaid tub we can toss in the trunk, anything else I should be thinking about?

didn't even think about stuff like that!! Duh! I was just going to through together stuff for us and the kids...like clothes, diapers, formula, bottles...guess I need to think about the other stuff too! Thanks!

I am not packing anything like that...just extra food/clothes/diapers, etc, and probably my laptop. Our important papers are in a small safe which can just be put in the car if need be. I am just north of Merrick though, so I am not *as* high risk of flooding (I hope  )

I am surrounded by water in a neighborhood where a normal high tide can cause real issues... i dont know what im going to do just yet!

OK, I just heard this on the radio this morning and thought it was a great idea. If you have important stuff, put it in the dishwasher! BC the dishwasher is water proof! I thought that was brilliant. Thinking about doing that if they talk about evacuating us.

Oh, that's a good idea!
I'm a little nervous if it ends up being a Cat 2 when it hits, I know that when Gloria hit (Cat 1) this house almost flooded, the water came halfway up the front yard.

Same here. My mother lives on LI, but further inland so she has suggested going there. Not sure if that's the best idea just yet. I guess we'll really have to follow closely and decide soon.
