If you or anyone you know has CAC

OK, new house is getting gutted tomorrow and I am having a H E L L of a time finding a CAC company who will install ductwork through the walls, not the closets to reach the first floor roomsChat Icon Never had CAC installed.

Do you or anyone you know have it? Who did you use?

I'm freakin a bit because I have a window of time to get this done after electrical and before installation of kitchen and baths. Why does my FIL pick now to visit SIL?

Already tried Sears... guy was cluelessChat Icon
and my FIL vetoed Dix Hills Air. I have to get estimates within the week.

TIA

My cousin put mine in for me. He does it on the side. If you would like me to ask him let me know.

We have Central A/C in our house. Hampton Air (based in Nesconset) did the install. We didn't select them, because our house was a new constructed. However, we have stayed with them for servicing and maintaining our heating and cooling systems. It's been rock solid so far and we signed up for a maintenance plan through them. If you want their contact info, send me an FM.

My parents just got it done and they put the unit in the attic crawl space. Can they do that for you too? The big pipe did have to go through part of what was once the linnen closet though.

Re: If you or anyone you know has CAC

you could look into a CAC manufacturer called Spacepak which is smaller ductowrk and easier to fit into a home. It's also high velocity which allows for cleaner ductwork. The germs and such don't have time to settle in the ductwork. Also much quieter than traditional CAC.

I can put you in touch with the NY rep for the company and they can refer an installer

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Feel free to FM me too.

Would you believe over the last two days I've called over 15 CAC contractors and 2 returned my call (let's se how many show up)?... they both have worked with my FIL before and his main team so I'll probably go with one of them if they can do what I'd like.

Some of the other contractors for CAC, elctrician have worked with my FIL's team before on other jobs over the years so I figure if they have to work together and coordinate schedules best to have people who respect each other's work.

I feel like I'm on Extreme Home Makeover but none of my contractors are as good looking as Ty PenningtonChat Icon

I have a call in to All-Temp but I didn't call Flynn Air.

Have you had any experiences?

Thanks

I used these guys for maintenance after the ones that put my CAC in didn't really do a very good job. They came highly recommended from a friend that used them to install CAC. After working with them, I will continue to use them every year. They were through and easy to get an appointment.

We had our CAC installed by Burner King, who did our heating system. They were great. I'm not sure about doing the ductwork through the walls, because we only got it in the upstairs, but I would recommend calling them.Chat Icon
