If you plan for an outside backyard party and it rains...

what do you do?

We are getting a lot of yes responses for Claire's 4th birthday-more than I figured since a lot of her day care friends are saying yes when last year we had more nos.

It will be a blast if i doesn't rain, but if it rains, I guess we all just squeeze in the house and we move through activities as quickly as possible?

I guess I should plan for some indoor activities just in case.

Abby's first bday was to be in my ILs backyard. Pending thunderstorms that day. Few days before I had the venue switched to an American Legion Hall. There was tons of room, air conditioning and no worries. I just called all of my guests and vendors and it was fine - there was also torrential rain and wind that day. All of my guests would NEVER have fit inside of my ILs house.

your house is a great size...just run through happy bday and and presents...i think most people know not to stay long in a situation like that

This was our LAST year doing DS' birthday party at home.

My house cannot accommodate that many guests.

We have had a threat of rain EVERY party with DS. 2 of the parties had to be rescheduled.

I watch the weather like a maniac and make a decision 2 days before. EVERY YEAR!

I just can't worry about it anymore. It is stressing me out too much.

While I just love to have the parties at home I will no longer do it for DS' birthday parties.
