If you ran a race when you were pregnant
My OB isn't thrilled to hear about my running, but I ran a marathon just before I got pregnant, so I'm comfortable with doing it.
I only ran one race when I was pregnant with #1 (never for #2) and it was a 4 mile race - done very slow at 35 weeks.
I'm contemplating the Town of Huntington St Patrick 4 mile - but the hill is a doozy and I have laid off hills in my runs.
I also thought for a second to do the LIHM, but I just don't want to be on the road for so long, since I will go very slow and thought maybe I should do the 10K. I'll be 23 weeks.

Re: If you ran a race when you were pregnant
I ran two 5ks when I was pregnant with #2; they were run kind of early on, in my first and second tris and I just ran them slower. I have a friend who was running races up until the end. My suggestion is to not try and PR, hydrate and walk if you need to, especially up a hill. Since you're an experienced runner, you most likely know your body pretty well and will know if you're working too hard.
Congrats to you btw!

Re: If you ran a race when you were pregnant
I haven't raced at all since being pregnant, but I am still running. The main thing for me was that I didn't want to spend money on a race if I couldn't go all out.
If that doesn't bother you I don't see why you shouldn't do the race if you want to, although I think a half-marathon might be a bit long, but that's just me.
Good luck!

I have a high max also, that's why I could never adhere to that "under 140" rule.

Well, it does bother me a little...I'm going to use my mom's maiden name to register, b/c my times get published in my running clubs newsletter.
I'm doing it more for comraderie - with a few friends.

Hey Erica I have one friend how ran the LIHM at 7 months pregnant and I know someone else who ran 2 miles the day before she gave birth. Like the other poster said you know your body I think you will be fine doing the LIHM just do it at a slow pace but if you are not comfortable do the 10K.
