If you take/took Labetalol for high blood pressure during pregnancy ...

What was your dose and how many times a day did you take it?

I've been on it a week, and my BP is still high (avg. 145/95). I was taking 100 mg 3x a day, so my OB upped me to 200 mg 3x a day.

Just wondering how that compares? I hate taking anything while pregnant, but I know this is necessary.

And how soon after you delivered were you able to come off it?

At 32 weeks I was on 100 3x a day and once I gave birth I ended up on. 200 2x a day I believe and I just weaned last month..dd is almost 7 months old and ive been off since she was 6 mos old

i didnt take it until after birth. i had pre-eclampsia and delivered at 33w but the high blood pressure wasn't what made them deliver me, HELLP syndrome was. i was on i think 50mg twice a day after delivery and the high blood pressure never returned.

I was only on labetalol for 3 weeks which at theat point found I was allergic. Was then given Procardia. After 6 weeks was able to stop taking it.

I started it at 100 mg twice a day. Went up to 100mg 3x a day. By the end I was on 200 mg 3x a day. Right after I delivered my bp went crazy low. It did creep up again so I was discharged on 100 mg 2x a day. I was off of it by 4 weeks post partum.

Thank you ladies!! I started the 200 mg dose yesterday and for the first time in a long time since being pregnant, my BP was 135/85 this morning. It's coming down, so that's good!
