I'm sorry but these people in the video are just overdramatizing it.
It always says it right at the pump the price for cash vs. credit. And most times the big sign at the corner it will say (maybe in smaller print) "cash only".
It's not bait and switch as one person said in the video. Another person said it's "horrible".
Come on people.

Where did you see this? At the beginning of the video where they say you didn't see the price until you swipe? The credit card price was posted on top of the pump.
If the credit price is not posted on the post, the gas station would be in violation and subject to a fine as the lady in the video said.
I would just fill up and dispute the charge if they hit me up for extra. Take a pic of the pump with the camera phone for proof and say in the dispute the attendant refused to refund me. Easy dispute.

you're right. I totally missed that. it says 4.27 for reg and then 4.35 right under it, right on top of the pump.

I saw it too. Most stations around me (I know that's not really relevant bc I am so far away) will have tiny letters saying cash under the amount.
I think it's 3 parts stupidity 1 part trickery.
It's your job to KNOW where your money is going. Look at your reciept, make sure it says what you think it should say.
That's not just gas either, it's for EVERY purchase you make. I started realzing that with people trying to check out so fast the scan things in and if you have more than one item and they have to key in a number on their own that's where it happens to me the most. They go to hit 2 and thier finger slips aaaand they hit 3 or 5.
Anyway, my point is always look at the item price (item amounts if more than one) and total amount due, it can save you a few bucks left and right.

At one gas station by me there is a huge sign that says "SAVE with CASH", at first I wasnt getting it. Then after going to a few I noticed that there were different prices when you pay with a credit card (which I normally do, because I never have cash) but its my debit card!!! It comes right out of my checking!!! Ugh.. these gas prices are getting ridiculous.. cant wait to fill up today!

One person working at a gas station told me that it was illegal on NY to post a price and not disclose if it's cash or credit. If it's higher for credit then they MUST say "cash" somewhere.
