If you want to take "professional style pictures" what camera would be good to purchase?
We currently have a Canon for everday use etc, but I'd like to get another camera for more "professional type" photos.
I don't know anything about this, but am interested in getting a REALLY good camera that is close to or like the type professionals use.
Any ideas?

I am picking up a Canon Rebel XTi tonight - it's a good entry level digital SLR

I'd get a Digital Canon Rebel and a good lens. I'd buy the camera separately from the lens. The lenses that come in the kits stink IMO.

ITA. It's the lens that's the most important (and the talent of the photographer ). You can have an average camera, but if you have good lenses and know at least the basics of photography, you'll have a better chance at taking good photos. That being said, I love my Nikon D70S (which is now the D80).
