If you wanted a "vacation" farm house that could be a retirement home?
Where would you go?
Upstate NY or PA? Another location?
And a teenager would not bored. Oh... and not too expensive.

If money is no object....Kent, CT. I live about 20 minutes from Kent and it is absolutely beautiful.

I went to high school in Kent!!! It is gorgeous. But if money is at all an issue, you might not be able to afford it.

My first choice is the North Fork of LI but its big money to get acerage there so I'd say Ulster or Orange county. Depending on your teenagers you could have ATVs or they could fish, hunt or do snowsports.

ITA with the North Fork comment. My boss has a nice 100 acre farm 45 minutes from Albany and it is really nice up there, but on the verge of being too far for a weekend.
