If you went to Disney for Halloween Not-So-Scary event, did you dress up?
Or did you see other grown ups dressed up?
My kids will be, but should DH & I as well?
I can get into the cheesiness of it all, as long as there are other fools my age dressed up.

we didn't dress up but there were lots of adults dressed up - some were in amazingly elaborate costumes! ... cutest ones were the families who did a "theme" ...

Re: If you went to Disney for Halloween Not-So-Scary event, did you dress up?
YES!!!!!
DO IT!!!!!!!!!
Dress up! It's amazing. I found that most adults were dressed up in some fashion. Some had really elaborate costumes or family themes and some had t-hirts and crazy hats.
it's amazing. DH and I dressed as Snow White and her prince on our last trip (I have pics on facebook), and it was amazing. Everywhere you go, the characters will interact with you as if you ARE the character you're dressed as. I had a great interaction with Goofy at Liberty Tree when he realized the Wicked Queen was sitting at the enxt table and he warned me not to eat my apple dessert. It was hilarious!
Also, Lady Tremaine tried to get the stepsisters to steal my prince, which they did try to do, and we had a whole interaction on the street in the middle of fantasyland.
If you go, I would give a few pieces of advice:
1) Other than Haunted Mansion, where the CMs REALLY get into it, any rides you really want to ride at night (SPlash and BTMRR come to mind) and the ride of a character you're dressed as, I'd really not even bother with rides. The whole fun is the atmosphere and the amazing characters you can see everywhere.
2) The Trick or treating is pretty lame. it's not special Disney candy and it's not given out by characters but normal cast members. I'd try to convince your kids not to do the whole trail.
3) Be on time for the parade. The beginning is awesome!!!

We didn't, the kids did but we did see other adults dress up. If I went again (we missed it by a week this year) I would probably dress up this time.

And we got WAY too much candy. We had to leave half of it in the room for the housekeeper as we couldn't bring it back home-lol

I didn't find an adult (also I was plus size) Snow White costume that I liked..they were mostly "ho white"...so I sewed both costumes.

Re: If you went to Disney for Halloween Not-So-Scary event, did you dress up?
DD went as tinkerbell (15 months) we did not dress up. I would say about 30-40% of the parents were dresses up. Most parents I saw dressed were done as a whole family - I.e. - wendy, peter pan, captain hook, tinkerbell etc. Or the incredibles etc. Basically the whole family was one theme. I would say 80-90% of the children were dressed up if I remember correctly.

Re: If you went to Disney for Halloween Not-So-Scary event, did you dress up?
We did, it is more fun if you do! we didn't go all out - I was the 4th of July (pregnant!) wearing jorts, a 4th of july shirt, my fireworks mouse ears and star shaped garland on my wrists. DH was harry potter, just wore a shirt with a griffindor tie. But we got so many comments and prince Naveen was soooo confused by my costume - it was awesome!!!!
some characters dress up - they are also dressed up during regular hours too.
And you can be anything that doesn't break the rules lol!
