Not so scary Halloween party in Disney
Am I reading it right that the event is 7PM-12AM daily? I'm trying to figure if we should go back to Disney on Halloween for this (right now we're scheduled to go 10/29)
It may not be worth going so late for us....

Re: Not so scary Halloween party in Disney
it is not every night...just specific nights..we just got back this week and went 1 of the 2 nights it was offered our week down there! It was VERY crowded...like 3x as crowded as it was during the day! I was sooo looking fwd to it,, but bec the massive crowd we didn't get to do much but parade and go to one trick or treat section! We left after the 9:30 firework show!

Re: Not so scary Halloween party in Disney
I was there years ago and the halloween party is late at night. You don't actually have to do the halloween party, the park is still decorated during the day. But DH and I cannot wait to take our kids to this. I had so much fun with my niece when she was a kid that I am excited to do this with my own children. I don't plan on keeping them up for the entire time, they would probably fall asleep anyway

So if we're going to the park on 10/29, do you think I should put them in costume? (Buzz & Woody)

Re: Not so scary Halloween party in Disney
We went in 2008 (end of Sept/beg of Oct) It isn't every night - but the schedule changes yearly so you would have to see what dates - they do have it more frequently closer to halloween. We went when DD#1 was 15 months old - my parents came on the trip so they came with us. You can get in on the MNSSHP ticket around 3 or 4 pm. They give you a bracelet and you are in - so many people arrive around that time. I would say when we went 60-70% of the kids were in costumes - and I would say probably more people wear costumes closer to halloween so I would definitely bring something if you think your kids will want to wear something.
Lots of people eat early and go early. There are 2 parades (same one just run 2 times) and 1 fireworks. DD#1 stayed up through the 10 pm fireworks. We got in around 530 or 6 and we saw the 1st parade which was I think at 9pm. Then DD crashed in the stroller and my parents took her back to the room and put her to sleep. DH and I stayed for about another hour.
I would definitely do it again and would even still go if I only stayed until the fireworks ended - that is 3-4 hours (if you don't go early) - which was plenty of time for DD do go to 2 different dance parties with the characters, go on plenty of rides with no waits, see the parade then the fireworks. They also have trick or treating stations - but those lines seemed to move really fast (although we didn't do that b/c DD was only 15 months and didn't eat candy).
