If you were going

away for 4 days and had a choice of a larger hotel room or a average hotel room and the bigger room costs a total of $140 more would you go for it? THe hotel is in Paris.

i would do it!! if its one of those once in a lifetime trips or a rarity to go to paris then i would say definetly!!

In Paris, i am not such a hotel person. I really would just sleep there, not hang out. So I don't need a bigger room. I would rather spend the money on the experience and shopping.

depends - are you planning on spending a lot of time in the room? When I have traveled in Europe I spent very little time in our room - in fact in Paris there is so much to do I would probably only be there to shower, change and sleep. I would use that money for a really nice dinner or for something else.

The room also might not be as big as you think as European Standards aren't as high as US ones....I would spend the money on a bang up meal or a fantastic boat trip down the Seine!!!

Rooms are VERY small in Paris. Make sure to ask about the bed. A regular bed is a FULL size bed. And sometimes it's 2 twin beds. So yes, you need to go bigger. It's not the same as the US.

no, i would spend the money on a meal out or an exursion somewhere.... you're hardly going to be in the room except to shower and sleep... i would spend it on something else.

honestly, European hotels are small no matter what. Even the upgraded room would likely be smaller than your american size hotel room. Honestly, how long will you be spending time in your room? I would actually save the $140 and spend it at a nice dinner overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

In Europe I go cheap—location and cleanliness are my only concerns. I wouldn't care about the bigger room. I'd rather buy something cute to wear with that money. I was in Paris a few months ago and think I spent a total of 5 or 6 hours a night in the room, we were out late and up early.

spend it elsewhere in Paris! When we were in Paris last year, the only time we were in our room was to sleep.

I voted yes... Part of enjoying being away is spending the night in a hotel room, and treating yourself to luxuries that you don't necessarily get at home.

Also, tiny European hotel rooms can be a PITA-- especially with showering, putting your stuff away, etc. I think for $140 total, your money will be well spent.

are the features and amenities better in the bigger room or is it just more square footage? for me, that's an important determining factor.
