If your baby or babies were premature do you tell random strangers their real age or their adjusted age?

We were out at the mall today and people were all over them asking how old they were. I say 6 months (they are almost 6 months) but then they get nosy and say they look small for 6 months or ask if they were preemies. I don't feel like getting into the whole story with every stranger who asks.
Since Ann is a peanut I usually say "Nine months but she was 26 days early" If people guess first "She's so cute, what is she about x months?" - they always guess younger.

I say their real age, not adjusted. They were only four weeks early but I guess we make tiny babies since they are barely on the chart even for their adjusted age. So either way I suppose we would be dealing with it. If I get comments i'll usually just say yeah, they were early or something like that.

Nope I lie. I dont feel like getting into it. My DD is 14 months and bigger than a normal 14 month old now but I still lie b/c I dont want to hear the "is she walking yet" questions....(she was 3 monhts early) But i also lied when she was little too and just said the adjusted age.....

DS was 6 1/2 weeks early. When people would ask how old he was, I would tell them his real age. If they made any comments on how small he was, I would answer that he was early and generally leave it at that.
All the same, except DS was 5 weeks early.
Same here - but DD was 4 1/2 weeks early.
