if your baby was ebf...what kind of nipple did you use for bottles? pacifiers?
I really really want to concentrate on getting this one to drink a bottle and take a pacifier.
DH decided that he does like babies and my sister is currently staying with us. There is no way I can pass up help this time around.
thanks!!

you laugh kate, but he really shared this development with me earlier in the week driving back from Tampa.
He said he is now someone who enjoys being around babies...since he now realizes they grow up and its not forever.
he is a nutcase.

i used dr. brown's standard bottles and nuk pacis with DS, when he was exclusively breastfed and afterwards.
if you get the baby accustomed to it early on it shouldn't be a problem. with DS i was so nervous to give bottles and pacis for fear of nipple confusion, but my lactation consultant told me that in her 17 years of practicing she had seen extremely few cases. sure enough, i introduced a bottle when DS was 2 weeks old and he never got confused.

We use medela and weil baby bottles. DD seems happy with them. DS used medela as well but needed special vent nipples that were $$$.

My LC told me to use Playtex Drop Ins and I used Playtex Binky's
My DS never had nipple confusion as easily went from boob to bottle

I listened to her advise, about the drop ins, (had gotten a few other kinds at my shower, my LO got gassy or spit up after them, so we are drop ins only now)
We didnt want to give dd a paci, so every night I gave her a different ones, so she is not attached to any one in particular.

Re: if your baby was ebf...what kind of nipple did you use for bottles? pacifiers?
I used the Adiri bottles.
My DS never took a pacifier. I tried just about every one on the market and he just never really went for them. (And we did try from the beginning so that wasn't it.) Funny thing is now that he's 2.5 he's obsessed with them. Whenever he sees one in the store or finds an old one that I missed around the house, he has an absolute fit because he wants it.

Re: if your baby was ebf...what kind of nipple did you use for bottles? pacifiers?
thanks!
Josh was such a bottle/pacifier failure. He was jaundiced and I was engorged, so we started bottles in the hospital. He never took to it.
This time around I am so tempted to buy one of each bottle and just keep trying. I think having someone else give it to the baby will make all the difference.

DD has no problems going between the Playtex Drop-Ins and the boob. As for pacifiers, she likes soothies.

Re: if your baby was ebf...what kind of nipple did you use for bottles? pacifiers?
Well NONE of them worked for us this time - DD#2 refuses since birth to take a bottle. She will occasionally take a paci (soothies) and I just found out that they make a bottle with the same nipple which we are trying now.

I used Dr. Brown's bottles with both kids. To get Erik initially interested in bottles, I used these Gerber nipples:
Ella took gerber nuks. Erik never wanted a pacifier of any kind.
