Friday.....this way, you can grumble thru the weekend, or forget about it, so you don't make it the point of grumbling during an entire week of work.

Monday..I would want to have time to think about the talk and then maybe have the time and the oppy to discuss during the week. It would be awful to have to ponder it all weekend and not be able to address anything.

I say monday. Mondays suck anyway...I would want to deal with it and be over it by the weekend, rather than ruin my whole weekend!

Friday. If I knew about it ahead of time I'd be anxious all weekend. And as a manager I liked to get it over with so it wouldn't ruin my weekend.

If I am getting a promotion - Monday
This way I will be happy for whole work week
If I am getting reprimanded - Friday
So by Monday everyone forgets about it

We try not to layoff/fire on a Friday because if someone has no family they sit home & sit at 4 walls all weekend.

If I knew about the impending "talk" I'd rather it happen ASAP, sp whichever came first. I wouldn't want it scheduled & have to wait through a weekend for it!

I thought Friday was better because if it were me I wouldnt want to have to look at you the next day if I was reprimanded. I like some time in between.
The person I work with was asked to come meet with the supervisor today but procrastinated and then never did. I could never do that , because then I would stew about it all weekend.
If I was being fired I would rather it be Monday, at least let me enjoy my weekend.

Since my boss had an issue with me this week, I would have rather have dealt with everything today which was Friday. My stomach has been in knots waiting for this week to end!
