If your child had their tonsils out (or know someone)......
Did you notice that their bahavior changed? Were they sleeping better after?
DS is getting them out in January. He has sleep apnea and the doctor believes this may help him with his 'behaviorial problems'. MIL FREAKED THE FREAK out when I told her this. SHe wanted the doctor fired. But I just talked with DS's teacher and she said her daughter slept so much better and her behavior became much better too.
Do you agree or disagree? Any changes?

My DD(#1) NEVER slept through the night until she was 5 RIGHT AFTER SHE HAD HER ADENOIDS OUT!!! Of course it changed her behavior because for the 1st time ever, she was sleeping enough.

See, according to family he 'sleeps' through the night because he typically doesn't get up. But he stops breathing every 10 minutes, grunts, moves and begins the process again.
Now I am beginning to wonder if I will start sleeping through the night, instead of listening to him all night. But I don't want to get my hopes up.

my cousin's daughter had her tounsil's and adnoids out - after ward her night terror's were gone and she slept so much better - i don't think they saw much difference in her personality just that her sleep was so much better- she was just a little less whiney but she was 8 when she had them out - so she was older - there is a link between enlarged adnoids and night terrors
another friend's son had adnoids and tonsils out at 5 and it helped him tremendously he was able to breath so much better at night and helped with running around too -
is he getting his adnoids out too?

Yes he is.
I do notice he is having problems breathing while running. I was wondering if he was developing exercise induced asthma, but now this may make sense.

DH had his tonsils out. He was 30 when he did it so his behavior didn't improve,  but he started sleeping MUCH better after the surgery. He used to snore really badly and now he doesn't snore at all.

I think so because they are actually getting a full night uninterrupted sleep because they are more comfortable. God knows if I get woken up during the night I am a crab...and so are they
