Re: If your child has had an EEG or MRI, please help..
My good friends son has been thru it all. The MRI and EEG's were not so bad. The EEG he wore home and slept with it and went back the next day to have it taken off. They aren't painful in anyway. Sorry you have to go thru it, but it will be ok and just remember its a means to an end. You obviously have some concerns about your baby's health and these are 2 very non-invasive ways to get answers. If I can relay any questions for you please feel free to fm me.

Re: If your child has had an EEG or MRI, please help..
My DS had it done last year. Both tests. It was a lot harder on me than him. He was put under because there was no way he was going to sit still to be "hooked up". I aslo had JUST given birth to DD exactly a week before, so, I was very very emotional..LOL. It was nothing! I sat in the room with him while he "slept". They didn't wake him until the "wires" were all off his head from the MRI. He wore the EEG home. Did good, but, at bed time, he was done. They said it was OK if that happened, they could probably still get a reading. Thank goodness. The whole thing took maybe 20-30 mins. if I can remember correctly. If you have any questions at all, please FM.

Re: If your child has had an EEG or MRI, please help..
DD had both tests done in 2009 and it was definitely harder on us then her.
She also had to be put under because she was only a year old. After the first test, they attached the wires to her scalp (while she was still asleep) and then they gradually woke her up. She seemed fine, but it was hard that night with her head all wrapped up and the wires coming out.
The next morning, we had to remove the wires ourselves and I had to wash her hair like 4 times to get all the glue out.
Both tests were negative and DD is fine, but it was definitely hard on us. DD will not remember this.
Good luck!
